Records show workers have tough job at youth home in W.Va.

Of course workers at a maxium security kid prison have a tough job....They are dealing with the worst of the worst. Those kids mostly have been through hell and don't give a shit who they put through hell. Then the guards have to worry about getting arrested everytime one of the lil idiots doesn't get their way. And for those of you going to be typing such nonsense as "they are just children" "I'm sure they are really good people" and all the other hoop-la crap you may feel the need to type SAVE IT. You go work with them and then say that, but don't forget that no matter what they did, who they raped and or killed, or what they do to you, they are in fact children :)

I have a few questions? The 5 guards that restrained and beat an 18 year old (Oct 2008), causing severe head injuries were charged with felonies. I never heard if they were convicted, or was this just swept under the table?
The unattended death of a 19 year old, found at 7:30 p.m.(Feb 2009) in his cell dead. The body was sent to the state for an autopsy. What were the results of the autopsy.
Why aren't these substantiated cases being reported more in the news.

I can remember 20 years ago my grandmother complaining that stories you first hear about on the local news never get followed up on, so we're all left in the dark.

Guess things haven't changed much.

I am the mother of the 19 year old who died as of the date May 19th I have not heard anything about my sons death. No one at the youth center will talk to me, no state trooper has talked to me and the cornors office has never contacted me. I get all my information from the newspaper articles in the tribune from the internet. As of this date they clam they still can not find cause of death. the only think I know it was not suicide. Too many people envolved and no communication with the family.

I appreciate your thoughts and prayers and I hope to get the answers that I am looking for. My son was healthy and alive at 7:00 pm and died at 7:30 this is why I need to get answers to his death

I cannot even begin to imagine your grief, nor would I want to, I wish there was something I could do to help you. You most certanily need to get in touch with an attorne, or contact the local news stations. I believe you really need to contact the news and tell your story, they most certainly would do an interview with you. Please keep the thread posted on any updates. I am a very concerned mother who also has a son at the facility.

I'm not buying it. Post some more detailed information if you don't mind. No names needed but when and where exactly and any other details. Investigating officer??

I agree that some of those kids that are at the youth home are and can be violent. I have a few friends that work there and they have told me stories but, no names and some of the things that those kids do. I have a friend that was a teacher there a while back and a girl(which was rewarded with karate lessons or something of that sort for good bhavior) threw her through a window and caused her to have alot of medical problems but, there are also, kids there that have other problems that are not violent. I don't know what they are going to do there. I think they should be placed in different areas depending on the nature of the crime they committed. I think they do this in prison.

I know the one guy and he is from Lumberport he is headed to court before to much longer he says he feels bad now!! I wonder if he felt bad when he was bating the kid?

Look her up on the computer she is the one that stabbed her dad 100+ times and said someone intruder did it, escaped to florida after she cut her home confinement braclet off look her up and listen to the 911 call it use to be on the internet.
