What mixed messages we are receiving here in the UK. On the one hand we are hopeful for an end to the death penalty, reading that there is to be a vote in November to abolish for good the murder of prisoners on Death Row. Now, we discover that prosecutors in Los Angeles are hoping a judge will agree to have two prisoners put to death by lethal injection. When will America wake up to the fact that this practice is barbaric and not what a civilised country does anymore.
