I use the word 'neighbours' very loosely because in some cases being neighbourly is the last thing they're interested in. Housing Associations in North Staffordshire seem to be destroying communities as they're bringing in tenants who have no roots in the village or area they're renting in - nor do they have any interest in remaining there, they just want to get a foot on the property ladder.
In my case,I live next door to a Beth Johnson-owned property and among the problems I've had are verbal abuse which I called Staffs Police about - they dealt with the matter promptly and spoke to the Beth Johnson tenant responsible, however I'm not aware that the landlord spoke to the tenant about their behaviour despite being made aware of what had been said - and removal of shared property from an area shared with me. Beth Johnson's reaction over the last 6 months has been so slow that I had to have a solicitor's letter sent to them. The Beth Johnson Tenancy Service Officer,Glenys Baxendale, wrote to me assuring me that the tenants had been visited and had the situation explained to them and that they understood that they could not restrict continued use of shared facilities by me. The result - the tenants took no notice and have carried on as before. What conclusion can I draw from this? That sometimes Housing Assocations aren't overly concerned with the behaviour of their tenants?
