Are council workers right to strike over pay?

Are these poorly paid bin men the same ones who leave your bins in the middle of the road or the drive so you cant drive in? Are they the same ones who report you for having a wrong item in a bin so you get fined £200? Are they the same ones who refuse to empty your bin because the lid is open 2"? Are they the same ones who want elderly folk to drag their bin nearly a mile so it can be emptied? And more.....

If so, they dont get my support!

I notice very little praise for the Sheffield Bin men. But lets ask ourselves why. Veolia, Since they took over the service has deteriorated.. The staff are like dictators to the young workforce, But, Who are the Young Workforce, They are young agency workers, Taken on at just over £5 an hour. These youn men are very dedicated and polite because they are constantly being told that they may be set on permanently. Now.

Lets look at the regular Workforce, Same deals as when they worked for the Council. Sick Days and regular days off. They take this time off sick or not. Yet when Xmas comes. All the youngsters are laid off, The regulars get all the tips ( Quite a lot ),

When there has been problems such as mess left on the doorsteps. Claims that the bins are too heavy. You can guess that it is the regulars. Time for a change I think, Maybe we should bing this srvice back under Council Control.

The Bin men work for a private company, Yet they expect to get the same treatment as Council Workers not to mention more pay. They even strike when the Council Strike. However, Making a complaint about them can result in obscene phone calls etc. So be careful
