Just think, if we legalize prostitution, we reduce the rape crime dramtically. If we legalixze protitution, we clean up the business and disease ridden prostitutes will be weeded out. If we legalize prostitution this country w reudce the amount of child-molestations. For all the young men who can't get enough for they don't get much at all, legalizing protitution makes a lot of sense. It can be taxed. It can be cleaned up. It can be regulated. Why is it wrong for two people to want to have sex with each other? Where is the crime? As long as no one gets hurt, where is the crime in having sex with each other????? Why do cops care if some people like to have sex with anohter willing adult, when so many have lied and withheld evidence which placed many innocent people in prison for many years? not when used in a sting by the PD but the cops can't say some things that would tip you off to a cop.

I must set you ignoramuses straight on practically EVERYTHING that's been said here. You'll know who you are.
First, paedophilia is a matter determined by the age of consent in the country in question. The fact that can differ between countries is IMMATERIAL to the concept behind the law: it is intended to protect people who are deemed to be too *mentally* immature for the potential consequences of having sex. It is NOT a matter of physical maturity; just because an individual has reached puberty does NOT mean that the individual is ready for sexual relationships. Furthermore, many of these age of consent watersheds are UNFIT FOR PURPOSE because they are too low. There is no question that no one as yound as 12 can sensibly be considered an adult, irrespective of puberty. In summary, by law, anyone who has sex with a person under the age of consent, is having sex with a minor and this is paedophilia *in the eyes of the law*.
Next, legalising prostitution would NOT reduce rape statistics. The person who suggested this is an imbecile. As if any rapist commits rape because he can't find, or afford, a prostitute! If he's prepared to risk life imprisonment to get his sex, he's hardly likely to be willing to *pay* for it, is he? Obviously this person hasn't got a clue as to why rapists commit rape. More importantly, prostitution can ONLY occur as long as men are not allowed to take sex by force; prostitutes EXPLOIT the law which *protects* women from would-be rapists: If men were allowed to get sex by force, not one of them would pay for it. This is why prostitution is EVIL. No man with more than half a brain is happy to pay for something which the prostitute gives for free to her boyfriend or husband. Thus, prostitutes generate hatred towards women in general (since any woman could be a prostitute for all anyone can tell). It's why prostitutes are always being targeted by killers and it's a reason why women DO get raped.
Also, legalising prostitution is unnecessary because it is already easy enough - evidently - for men to find them.
Moreover, if you legalise prostitution pimps will be able to lure your daughters into the 'game' and your wife could be solicited in the street every day. Maybe one day she'll get solicited by a guy she fancies; relationships can be wreaked, children's lives destroyed as their parents divorce. Regardless, how would you like your wife or girlfriend solicited? How would a decent woman feel about this? What sort of people make up the regular clientelle of prostitutes? Think of your neighbourhood becoming a red light district over night. Legalised prostitution? Imbecilic idea!
Article: this dad is another complete idiot. What 14 year old boy is emotionally mature enough to realise how having sex with a prostitute will reflect upon him? Very few. Chances are this kid will think his dad is cool and then, later on, realise that forever after anyone who finds out will think he had to pay to lose his virginity. This is irrespective of how he comes to feel about prostitutes. I would HATE my dad for putting such a temptation before me when I was too stupid to reject it as the filthy, disrespectful gesture it is.
