I am kind of confused by the picture of the children being allowed to play in shucked corn.

I don't know how deep the corn was/is, but I do know that you can sink into it and suffocate and/or inhale the corn and die. It is not a very good idea.

I'm sure that the farmers are very aware of this and have taken precautions, but kids will be kids and as anyone knows it still could happen
