Thats brilliant, these animmals are being hunted to extinction and the press is telling where more are located in detail!! The media never ceases to amaze me with its utter stupidity and disregard for the protection of animals and humans for the race to be the first to release a story..

Thank you, exactly my thoughts. What a bunch of blood-sucking leeches the media can be.

I agree with you both.

I just wish they gave habitat destruction the same media coverage they gave a population "miscount"

I am so distressed because the disclosure of the discovery of these precious creatures will bring about their destruction. I wish the media would have simply said that a population of lowland gorillas had been found, but omitted their
location. Unless there is constant protection from poachers, this could be a disaster. Also, I think that the governments around the world should do something to stop China's
increasing demand for so many of this planet's endangered species.

If I may play devil's advocate, they're talking about 18,000 square miles that these newly-found animals live in. That's a lot of space to cover if you wanted to go hunting.

That said, yeah, it was pretty stupid to say where they were found.

Really ... It's a good think the paparazzi wasn't around when Anne Frank was hiding. They would have been outside the house like it was The Ivy.

"Wildlife researchers said Tuesday that they've discovered 125,000 western lowland gorillas deep in the forests of the Republic of Congo, calling it a major increase in the animal's estimated population."

It is NOT a major increase in the population!!! The population was there! Our "esteemed scientists" were just wrong in their findings. But of course we are supposed to accept their conclusions as fact....
That is a hell of a percentage to be off by.

Why do we give so much credence to "scientific" data when new data turns up giving us a completely different results so frequently?

I vividly remember learning in the early seventies about the "coming ice age"...but God forbid you even QUESTION global warming...

Any by the way...how is an 18,000 square mile area a "detailed" location. Stop thinking with your emotions and think with your brain.

lemmings.
