I have worked in Randox Laboritories and it was the worst place I have ever worked. The company operates an old style clockin stystem and offers staff no flexibility in working hours. Staff are also sacked without reason on the whim on management. If anyone is considering joining I would seriously ask them to reconsider.
I think it is a complete disgrace that Invest Northern Ireland have funded this organisation to the tune of 9.2 million in the last year. Our young people deserve better treatment within the workforce. If anyone wants to find a board that discusses what happens at Randox you can find it here: http://www.biofind.com/rumor-mill/6915 If you are contemplating joining the marketing department I would strongly advise staying away. If you make a suggestion on how to improve things its likely you will get an immediate P45. I would strongly suggest that political leaders check out the blog mentioned above. Their latest little brainwave is to stop any personal calls. The reception will not put calls from family members/childcare etc through. Instead they take a message and pass it on.... And there is no point in pretending it is a genuine business call because they will listen to your telephone conversations. Staff are not allowed to use their mobiles so what happens if there is an emergency?? Surely this must be illegal?
Now technically speaking they don't take a message. The caller is told in no uncertain terms, that personal calls ARE NOT ALLOWED (not at all embarassing - I was so proud to work for one of THE Top 100 companies in NI!) and are put through to an answering machine. Yep, an answering machine. Reception will then transcribe the message and let you know you have received a message! And give you the copy of the message. Which is feck all use because: a. you are not allowed to make personal calls. b. you are not allowed a mobile phone turned on during office hours c. you can't get a feckin signal as Randox is in the arsehole of nowhere d. that woman sits in the canteen all day watching you on CCTV feed so you can't do a or b. It is a joke! No actually, its not. Jokes ARE funny! |

To those people looking to join Randox- do your due diligence before application, I wish I had- DONT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE, people don't make stuff up on this forum, look at the many companies not on here. Ask yourself, do you want to be right or happy.

Be wary of the logic that Randox employs a large number of people so some must be happy. Employee turnover is huge, but you will not be able to confirm this unless you find your self working there, by which time you have already made the mistake.
Do yourself a favor and look elswhere |

In January this year Randox announced 23 new high level jobs. As of Friday there are now 3 of this 23 still working with Randox. Place should be closed down. Its corrupt and treats people very poorly.

As a previous customer I sincerely recommend that if you are considering either working for or buying products from this company beware. The sales staff I dealt with always tried their best to help however after talking to head office to get pricing they never seemed to be able to offer competitive quotations, always asking for more and more information. The sales staff always seemed dejected and I got the impression that while they wanted to help they were being held back. You might not see a sales rep for upwards of six months and then see several individuals from the head office at once, most of which will be new and will have very little knowledge of the products. Almost every time I had called to discuss requests with head office the person I had previously been dealing with was gone. We had ordered several products for a few years however stock shortages were continual despite promises that the situation would get better. Partial orders would be shipped with items with expiry’s of only a few months despite several warnings on our part. No delivery estimate would be given for the products not included in the order. Products are never available when they are launched, we had tried to order several new products to be told they were not ready despite being officially launched, some of which have still not appeared after several years! I did visit their headquarters in Northern Ireland once and it did not inspire confidence. If you can find it in the middle of nowhere down what could only be described as a farm lane with no proper signage you will be confronted with a converted shed with a tin roof. With no proper entrance signs I didn’t even know where to enter the building.
In summary were are now dealing with one of the three proper suppliers in the UK and have recently had our lab re-fitted by them. We have the same rep every time and products are delivered on time and with good expiries. We don’t have people calling us from the supplier’s headquarters constantly questioning us. New products are available when released and indeed the supplier has worked closely with us to ensure these are working well when installed, giving us equipment for free provided we act as a reference for them. http://randoxthetruth.blogspot.com/ |

Randox Continue to Waste Tax Payers Money
How much money do Randox receive from the publically funded Invest NI year oon year. In these times of economic uncertainly we deserve to know. This link tells us that in one calendar year Randox received over £16 million pounds of government money. http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm20... ... Is this fair I hear you say. I really beleive its not. Why should the hard working and honest tax payer in northern ireland fund a regime of work that treats the young people of our nation so poorly. How many people do we know who have went to Randox and have been treated like animals. The company hets government grants to get people in the door and have them out of it again before their wages even match the subsidy. What we have at Randox is exploitation and it must end. Our tax money cannot fund this any longer. There needs to be a public enquiry into operations at Invest NI because to have this amount of money pumped into a company as inept as Randox is just criminal. http://randoxthetruth.blogspot.com/ |
