RE: Federal Gov't Wants To Build New Facility on Open Wetands in Middletown:

Dear Mr. Morin,
Would you consider a new army reserve facility on these properties after they are razed? It would no doubt boost the economy and positive activity in this area of Bristol. Also, the federal government would be obligated to keep it in kept ship/shape condition. It seems as if those neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet or rear their children in these blighted areas would have a little more pride in their surroundings if such a facility replaced the blight?

I admire your plan and I think it makes perfect sense. But the future use of that land must also be considered carefully so that it gives the area an opportunity to rebuild on a positive note.
Thank you for your consideration.

It's about time city leaders start putting their foot down on blight in and around Federal Hill. All it takes is a walk through Summer Street and Main St. to open one's eyes to the serious problem all Bristol residents need to consider. Are we going to continue to let the historic areas of Downtown degenerate into heroin infested slums? The city leaders have started to care, we must not let them stop caring.I've lived in Bristol most of my life, and the ready supply of hard drugs like crack and heroin have turned this town on it's head in 10 yrs. No one needs to go to Hartford or New Haven anymore for dope because all you have to do is go to Summer St. Clean out Fed. Hill trash.

Although the scale of drug abuse and etc isn't a major problem in Bristol as it is in other urban inner cities such as London and Birmingham we should then relaise to stop this being a big problem like it is in London and Birmingham 2008.
