The Sikhs and the Brits have a long history together. Since 1849 their history is joined as part of the British Raj.

During the World Wars, many hundreds of thousands of Sikhs voluntarily and willingly fought with the Allies against the Nazis and the Japanese – these were common enemies of freedom, democracy and free religious expression. The Sikhs fought wearing the turban instead of a steel helmet. Many thousands of these brave Sikh died on European and Allied territorial soil with their allied comrades.

During these periods of confrontation, the Sikhs were encouraged to practise their faith and freely wear the five articles of faith – also called the 5K’s. During these times of need, there was no restriction on the Sikhs from wearing these symbols!

These symbols are:

* Kesh: uncut hair – Turban is worn by men to cover the kesh
* Kanga: wooden comb
* Kara: steel bracelet or bangle
* Kachhera: cotton underwear
* Kirpan: a small sword

Since 1699, practising Sikhs MUST wear the 5K’s as ordained by their tenth master, Guru Gobind Singh. The wearing of the 5Ks is not optional but a necessity for a practising Sikh. One cannot be a proper Sikh without wearing the 5Ks!

In other faiths, the wearing of their symbols is not a requirement; it is an option.

I kindly ask everyone to only make a comment on this matter armed with the facts and with the proper knowledge of past history!

Sikhs will always remain traitors!!

Mughal sarkar called Guru Gobind Singh ji a traitor...

British sarkar called Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh traitors...

Indian Govt called Bhindrawale a traitor...

We are traitors and we will remain traitors...

and Mr. kahg, go and read the history first... 90% of the hanged during british raj were sikhs (The traitors) who were fighting for the indipendence of India... And these are the official figures published by Govt. of India..!!

Guru Gobind Singh ji took birth in a hindu family.Guru ji had nothing to do with any religion and if u read shabad and gurbani written by them they say that they have come to this earth on the orders or u can say request of Akal purakh to serve humanity.Khalsa Panth was created to fight evil doers and to spread the true message of love. Guru Gobind singh ji started sikh religion to protect the humanity at that time.Guru ji were not born Sikh they started sikhism.
Secondly bhagat Singh and udham singh were freedom fighters and followed communist thinking, u guise call any body a sikh because they had singh as last name. they were great indian freedom fighters who fought for a free india.people like those are born once in millenium.
i am a human being i can be wrong too but one thing i am sure if Guru Gobind Singh took birth again in human form or any of the ten Gurus they will never say that if one sikh is killed 10 or 100 hindus will be killed. Saints are very kind hearted they only see the soul not the name or the outer covering.To them everyone is equal.The speeches that i have listen of bhindranwala ji does not match to the teachings of Sikh Gurus.I ask for forgiveness, these are my personal beleifs.everyone has the rite to follow any one and to practice what they feel is good.

Sikhism is eternal no ruler wheter its Mughal or Indian or any world govt nobody can dare challenge its existence.It was present when the materialistic creation(anything visible with naked eyes) was created it will be present when this materialistic cretion will not be present.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
