1 From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days -- I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that. In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more impressive than ever. At 71, John McCain may just be hitting his stride. Obama’s Inexperience Tough to Ignore http://tinyurl.com/67x3yy The Audacity of Vanity http://tinyurl.com/55rav4 |

The Black people must not have any respect for themselves because if they did they would never call a fellow black person the "N" word, and use such demeanning words to describe their women as "HOES", and "BITCHES". If black people don't respect them selves, how on earth can they exspect other races to respect them. The "N" word is probably the ugliest racial slur ever created. It is a word known primarily as a means to denigrate African Americans. The word packs such power to represent overt racial hatred, most people - regardless of race - will not even utter it. This spring, Rich Stanek who was Minnesota's Public Safety Commissioner at the time, admitted he used the word more than 12 years ago in a court deposition. He says he didn't use the word against anybody; he merely spoke it. But the furor over his admission led to his resignation. One word uttered 12 years ago. One word That has such power of hate should never be used, "Ever" no exception. Whoopi, and other blacks that use the "N" word, and think it is ok, are only hurting the black community. |

Three of his preachers friends did Obama Camp Rejects Supporter's Past Use Of N Word It's Third Time Campaign Is Forced To Denounce Controversial Comments Reporting Mike Flannery CHICAGO (CBS) ― Sen. Barack Obama is target for critics again Wednesday night in another incident involving a minister and race. Without permission from CBS 2, the Fox News Channel ran Wednesday evening parts of a 2- year-old story by CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery on language used by State Sen. James Meeks, who is now a delegate pledged to Obama. "We don't have slave masters, we got mayors," Meeks said then while preaching. "But they are still the same white people who are presiding over systems where black people are not able to be educated. You got some preachers that are house n------. You got some elected officials that are house n------. Rather than them try and break this up, they're gonna fight you to protect that white man." When confronted in 2006 about his divisive language, Meeks initially defended it. "The word n----- is not, in the African American community, a bad word," Meeks said. "It's a term of endearment and I don't see it as derogatory or offensive." "No one will be offended by it, except an individual it applies to," he added. |

1 How about just voting for an American ??? Try that one |
Preach it, brother. As a white male, I am sick of minorites and women telling me that in 2008 they still need reparations and "equalities". That has been done, and then some. Go to work, stay sober and straight, educate yourself, speak American English, pay your dues, pay your taxes and treat others as you would like to be treated yourself, and you will be able to sustain yourself in America. Show me a failure here, and I'll hand him or her a mirror to see the "cause". The American Revolutionary War happened at a good time... so many modern Americans are such whiners, they'd probably have surrendered to King George of England and never fired a shot. We'd still have slavery....think about that, WHOOPPPPEEE Goldwhatever....!!!!!! |

You sound your looking for a excuse not to understand therefore I won't vote for a black Man. And for the record Obama is bi-racial and BI-RACIAL experience is difference b/c we have experienced racism from both sides of the fence. xenophobia and racism are tools in the toolbox. They've used them against white politicians in the past (remember John McCain's illegitimate Black daughter?). They're damn sure going to use them against a Black politician of similar stature. Amd if you wanted to understand the differences in cultures, you made the effort. I'm not arguing the whites usually know or understand privilege. Quite to the contrary. I mean I think that I understand what native Americans feel, but I could never feel it the same way that they do, any more than they could feel being bi-racial or black the way I do. But, if there were a way for people to really understand what it is like to be someone else, we might make some progress. The discussion doesn't get difficult until people feel that blame is being directed. It probably comes down to two main issues. Whites do not want to be called racists, or hear that race is responsible for most of black people's problems. Blacks do not want race to be discounted and perceived as people who simply cannot handle their problems. The gap in understanding is more rooted in culture and cultural difference. It has a privilege component because white's take for granted that it is their cultural norms that are correct and the metric that all others should be judged by. They don't recognize white ways of being and knowing as culture. Nor privilege. So...as I say...often they are unaware about their own culture. Then...they surely don't know about other cultures. They often enter the conversations double ignorant. Yet somehow think that they know and can speak with authority. That's not really privilege vs. individuality. That is ignorance vs. knowledge, one cultural perspective against another. |

WOw how ignorant this discussion should be about the topic of understanding racial diversity but her you come with your closed minded ignorance once again. go to another thread and spew this BS.. You might go point by point in true ULF/FOAF/RR style and disprove each and everyone with statistics and facts. You might go quitely insane from the myriad illogical responses to them. You might actually reach a few people but some will be offended no matter what you say, some will be vicious in their denials, and a few more will just flat out call you a race traitor. For me, my response would be pretty simple and to the point: "How many black churches have you been to in your life that you feel the right to judge? How long have you been a black man in this country? A black woman in this country? So, you can't know anything about it. With all due respect, with all the love in my heart, please STFU. |

For the record you can be the N Word, it doesn't mean black! Nice. Perspectives of white activists. Folks who get it. Folks don't sound defensive. Don't sound like they are less white. Just aware of the issues; the kinds of folks who could engage in constructive conversations about race. In the clip...they all seemed sympathetic to the notion of white privilege and the impacts on colored folk. Might have been nice to hear from a white person who understood all that, but disagreed with the outlook. |

I heard the clip where Barbara Walters was told... "that's a word I don't want to hear coming out of your mouth". So then, don't say it yourself. It is a word of endearment? Gimme a break. What if whites went around calling their white buddies "cracker" just because they knew it would infuriate some people and there was nothing they could do about it. It just shows the ignorance of the speaker... irrespective of the speakers race or the race of anybody in earshot of it. Political correctness is ruining this nation. If the word is resurrected by the hip-hop crowd and it winds up in the vernacular of main stream America again... Then we know who is to blame for it. So, whether the word fades away or not is up to the people who use it. So, choose your words wisely.

Words have power and negative, hateful words have a destructive power. Positive words have uplifting and encouraging power. I do not underestimate the the power of words, and the "N" word is not a word I would use.
I feel people should feel very strongly about chosing words that build up, not tear down those you love or respect. The use of hateful, destructive words (including the words we tell ourselves in the form of thoughts), not only have the power to tear other people down, but to tear ourselves down as well. As far as people Jesse Jackson who put themselves in the limelight as people who guide us morally and spiritually - their behavior must support the stance they've chosen to take. It's the old "practice what you preach" thing. If a person's putting himself or herself up there as a spiritual/moral leader and then behaving in a manner that doesn't follow what he or she is saying - then that person's living a lie. In other words, if you're telling people how to live and telling them that that's the right way to live, then live it yourself. Jesse Jackson is NOT what he claims to be, neither morally or spiriturally. |

1 In addition, before you analyze anyone's policies, you must look at their character. Obama has shown, time and again, to be deceptive, ruthless and divisive. If anything, Obama has shown himself to be more dishonest and ruthlessly ambitious than any politician this side of George Bush. And, his 20 year allegiance to a racist and anti-American "mentor and spiritual adviser" destroys his pretense as a candidate who can bring America together. All we have left now, is a typical politician with little experience, who is trying to perpetrate on the American public, one of the most terrible hoaxes of our time. According to a CNN poll of July 4, 2008, only 54% of Hillary Clinton voters plan on voting for Obama. For many of us, if the choice is between a centrist Republican with a Democratic House and Senate, and an inexperienced, deceptive, ruthless, and divisive Obama; we will vote for McCain. If, at some point in the future, the Democratic Party elite decides to pay attention to ALL of their membership, and field a candidate who represents the ideals of the mainstream of the Party, then I will happily come back to the fold. |
