So, people have been asking me who the band is performing the song on the new "Nurse Jackie" promo and after some quality research, I dug them up. The band is called "TERRAPLANE SUN" and the song is called"Is There A Way." They are from Venice, Ca. and they are apparently amazing. There's your answer.

I am completely unsure of how your program is going to present the profession of nursing, but as a registered nurse practicing perinatal nursing research, perinatal nursing patient care and a childbirth education instructor, I am hoping all concerned will appreciate and respect the thousands of intelligent, caring, perceptive, sensitive hard working nurses across the United States and represent us in a positive manner. I have my fingers crossed nurses will be accurately represented by your program. I wish all of you the very best. Please don't let the profession of nursing down.

Nurses are people. They are neither all good, nor all bad. They have problems like everyone else. When I watched the pilot., I was pleased. Of course nursing isn't always full of emergencies, or drama, but I think that they have done a good job showing the different things that nurses face day to day. I think everyone knows that nurses are intelligent,caring, sensitive and hard working, and yes, some of us have health problems. We don't all snort narcotics, but that is just another issue that some nurses face just like everyone else.

The song opening the pilot was Valley of the Dolls BUT - what is the song that plays at the opening of each subsequent episode? Not the commercials for the show but the opening song of the actual show? I can't find THAT info anywhere. Does anyone know?
