Got coffee Sentinel editors?

"It was overwhelming. I new immediately what I was going to do with the money."

You can mis-spell words in quotes only when the person mis-speaks...."New?"

The print version is equally impenetrable, beginning with the headline "Oprah leaves dazzles two county residents".

You know it funny, I used to say the same things about Oprah when I was younger. Then I actually sat myself down and watched an entire episode, and I realised, "Why do I dislike this women? All she does with her life is help other people". So, in my opinion I think you are wasting your time my friend. Time for you to jump on the "How can you hate Oprah" bandwagon.

yeah it's sad when the writer gets PAID and spells a word like "knew" wrong. If you misspell words in journalism classes in college, you get an F on the assignment.

I can't stand her because she's annoying and obese. Oprah also is doing a disservice to her viewers when she puts crackpots like Suzanne Somers on offering up medical advice and calling established medicine quackery. She also did a disservice to women by supporting Obama over Hilary and I hope more women abandon her show for it. Oprah ain't all that

Salty, the Stepford Widow, as you put it, was quoted as saying:
"I was unbelievably stunned," Draper said. "There is going to be a shimmer around me for the rest of my life." Draper said she had been waiting to see Oprah for years. She had a chance when a friend won tickets to the show through a silent auction two years ago. Draper put everything on hold, however, when her husband, Lee, was diagnosed with Leukemia days later.
Yes, she had to put her dream on hold until Lee passed away. Then she won some dough through a random drawing. Then she got to be on Oprah. Lee's sacrifice helped her achieve her dream.
What a guy, what a gal. The shimmer will not be diminished because of the loss of her husband, Oprah saw to that. Yes, lets celebrate.
Yeah, I guess you didn't understand my comment. If you did you would know that I completely disagreed with the "Stepford wife comment" and therefore agreed with your POV.

Oprah is no better than any of you. She is only a person. But I did notice that she only helps people when she gets the limelight and a big "aren't I a great person" message out to everyone who watches.

Plus, considering her income, what she actually gives back is minuscule and almost meaningless. Her true character was exposed when she demanded Hermes and Louis Vitton open their doors for her to go shopping.

Yes, by all means Oprah, forgive me for not bowing down.

When Oprah gives away $25,000, given that her income is $275 million per year, that would be the proportional equivalent of a worker making $80,000 p/yr giving away $7.19

So True! She is just a celeb who more than likely could care less about anyone but herself. It comes out in the Jacee Dugard case where she has paid this woman a million(?) to tell her story to the other shrews who want to eat up all the sordid details of her imprisonment and sexual slavery and Oprah is looking for ratings heaven that's all. It's interesting what you brought up about Black celebs giving back when they hit it big......they don't. Look at Russel Simmons who is worth $200 million plus and the only time he gave away any of his own money was when the Bill Gates Foundation was fighting malaria in africa and he said 'we can't let White people get the credit for saving Africa' to wit he gave $1 million aka a whopping .05% of his fortune to the cause of saving Africans from illness. Big man with small heart

Great that Oprah is such a huge influence in our society.'Tells you something about the current state of affairs in the United States.

People who scream patriot & then purchase crap from Walmart are as guilty as Oprah for taking advantage of the commercialism that reeks of cynicism in this country.

We're all hypocrites & we are doomed if we don't pull our head out soon. China will be knocking at our door & if we don't have the money to pay them back, we'd better start learning mandarin quickly or expect another war.

$25000 is not chump change any way you look at it. Who cares if it's a small percentage of their net worth, the fact is, they are giving something. Is that all they give? We don't know, I would imagine, like most people, they don't advertise their generosity at all time.

Also, talking about a woman's life, after she lost her husband two months ago, is in poor taste and just plain mean. So what if she lived for Oprah, so what if she was a 'Stepford Wife", did she take anything from you? I would imagine not. After caring selflessly for a dying man for two years, I say she gets a free pass to do whatever makes her have some shred of joy, if it hurts no one.

At least she had Oprah, what else do you have going on in your life but snarky blog posts?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Virgo

Be careful you don't wind up doing someone else's work today, Virgo. There are all sorts of little tricks to persuade you to take pity on them, from pretending to be ill to making such a hash of everything that you can't bear to watch for a moment longer. Then you are likely to be asked to put in some overtime, at the expense of your social life. Grr.
