1 If one is autistic wouldn't it be difficult to formally protest a radio station? |

1 1.) He has said FAR, FAR WORSE!!!! 2.) What gives that group some special right to demand anything? So you have a kid with autism or retardation or some other ailment and that automatically gives you the power to demand what people get to say or where they get to work or whatnot. Jesse Jackson thought he had that same magical right to waive his little finger and have people speak as he deems fit and do his bidding or else lose their jobs (Read: Don Imus, Bill Clinton/Hillary). That is until they just caught Jackson saying he wants to cut off Obamas's nuts, and that Obama is some arrogant n--ger talking down to black people.(The missing letters are "ig.") Perhaps one day one of these autism protestor leaders will get caught calling his own kids brats, or, gasp, even spanking one! |

1 If you start to censor opinions where do you stop? No body makes you listen to any radio station you don not want to hear. |

2 Why not spend some bandwidth talking about something Al Franken has said or what some other liberal dolt has muttered? |

2 I listen to Micheal Savage everyday driving home. I agree and disagree with some of his ideas. Sometimes he shocks me with his comments about race and nationalit political views. He is entitled to his own ideoloogy and I have the choice to keep or switch the station. So does everyone. Thank god for the 1st amendment :) |

1 The National Autism Group is using their constitutionally protected right to protest in order to pressure the radio station to can him. Raise your hand if you have a problem with the Constitution. They're also using the free market system to threaten boycotts against companies that support the radio station in order to affect their bottom lines and pressure them to remove their support in order to affect the station's bottom line. In any case, the radio station's response is completely a function of the free market system - if they believe they'll lose more listeners/revenue by letting him stay, they'll can him; if they believe they'll lose more listeners/revenue by letting him go, he'll stay. Again, raise your hand if you have a problem with the free market system. Considering that conservatives are masters of the boycott, I hope I'm not seeing any hands. |

1 It isn't mean. Difficult life lessons are the only way some people learn. If this Savage experiences it first hand (a child or grandchild), perhaps he will one day retract his ignorance on his radio show. |

1 Honestly, I think some folks have to learn compassion the hard way - particularly some of these conservative media types. |

2 THANK YOU! People fail to realize this point when they talk about "Free Speech." Remember when the Dixie Chicks said their famous comment and then got upset because people were boycotting them, burning their discs, etc. Savage may have said some bone-headed stuff, but he should always be able to speak his mind. Private citizens should also be able to do what they want in response. Isn't America great? |

Perhaps in his limited experience with autistic children they have all been brats, therefore his view of the situation. Was it irresponsible to say what he said? Probably. But could there be some truth to it, at least based on his experience. Maybe. |
