This is a horrible idea. I hate that the L word isn't continuing and one of my favorite characters, Alice, is convicted for killing Jenny? Nobody likes Jenny anyway and obviously it wasn't Alice. She's way too sweet. She could barely break up with Gabby Deveaux! I loved the different settings of the L word, how am I supposed to see different settings in a prison? And of course I'll miss my other favorite character, Shane! I don't understand how the setting could be a prison. If it were anything other setting I most likely wouldn't have a problem. It's the restriction of the prison that's making me angry. If she were freed in a few episodes then it'd be a different story.

This is the worst idea for a spinoff that I have ever heard of. I'll also take the guess that the Lesbian community will find it extremely insulting as it sounds like a porno series.

Yet another show that doesn't need a spin-off. I've not seen an episode since the first season, but I think the writers have pretty much said all that needs to be said. If they really wanted to continue their relative success, they should have made a similar show with gay men. True, there was Queer As Folk a few years back, but The L Word was more about the relationships as much about the sex, and I think it would be interesting to show gay men in the same way the show did with lesbians. Unfortunately, this does sound too much like a potential porn show, rather than an intelligent show about women who just happen to love other women. Shameful. One step forward and two steps back, as the song goes...

The L Word should have been a great show, but because of very, very poor writing and poor production decisions (switching to video in particular) it will remain a footnote. I enjoyed it but I can't say I thought it was great.

What kind of BS is that to tell us Alice killed Jenny before the Season Premier.

They need two versions of the L- Word. Keep the one the audience has been living with, and add one that more closely resembles Queer as Folk. In other words, less drama and much more "action".

I'm not really allowed to watch it. Alice is my favorite character and I don't believe that she killed jenny. Maybe it's a rumor

I like the idea of a women in prison that is not campy but not as dark as Oz. We don't have a lot of shows to watch, so the more we support these shows the more will be made and the better the quality should get. A least that is my hope.

"Lesbos in Jail" can't possibly be your idea of something that is not going to be campy. Remember the couple of episodes when one of the characters was in jail? How was that not campy and insulting? Of the thousands of settings they could have chosen, they chose one of the most ridiculously inappropriate and insulting.

It's ridiculous and disgusting. Alice needs people who love her and accept her quirks to work as a character. Otherwise she's too much. And the idea that SHE killed Schecter when she had such a minor reason to off her is unlikely. Unless Alice knew about all the crap Schecter had pulled on everyone else, the stolen idea is unconvincing thus the premise of the series makes the whole thing ludicrous.

even though leisha, melissa, and famke are awesome, i sincerely hope this doesn't get picked up by showtime. the L Word was consistently horrible, and for the audience to assume alice killed jenny is ridiculous.

I would rather not have a spinoff if this is the direction Chaiken plans to go. Who wants to see a lesbian show in prison with Alice and some past players from the LWord? What an insult to all of the fans. Either let it go with the last episode aired on Sunday or start an entire new show for lesbians set in New York with Bette and Tina. Or just start totally new. Anything but a prison show with Alice. Ridiculous!

I'm thinking campy as in "Chained Heat" with Linda Blair. I'm going to give it a chance before deciding what the show is like.

I enjoyed The L Word, but I didn't enjoy it for its scripts which were quite poor and often insulting (I thought the lead cat was mostly amazing and rose way above the limitations of the scripts and direction). It's too bad really. Here is a show that by its very existence was ground-breaking and it could have been a great show overall, but will remain a footnote because of the lack of execution.

Then again, they probably aren't deluged with other offers (except for Mia Kirshner probably).
