TV ratings: CBS squeezes past ABC Monday - 'Bachelorette' gives...

Full story: Zap2it.com

Fast National ratings for Monday, July 13, 2009 CBS' rerun lineup once again grabbed the biggest overall audience on Monday, but "The Bachelorette" kept things close for ABC -- and helped the network win the night among adults 18-49. CBS averaged 7.25 million viewers and a 4.7 rating/8 share in households for the night, narrowly beating ABC's 6.94 ...

Thank you for giving the ratings for every show.:)

How re-runs do is quite important from an economic point of view as CBS is raking in ad money with shows that have already brought in significant money, as opposed to shows that don't re-run that have to amortize themselves over a single showing.

Agree with new ratings format.
Now if we can just get some of the "top" rated "cable" shows reported (i.e. How did The Closer on TNT do last night?).

yeah this is good. as long as u have the rating still for every show and viewers if thats what people want its good. i like having the demo leader too. when new shows start again i would even like to have more than just the leader for demo for the hour. especially how new shows are doing in the demo so we know there chances of survival.

i'm glad Zap2it is giving the household ratings again, and for every show separately too.(giving the share wouldn't hurt either, like you could write it as a fraction). The ratings for CBS comedy reruns are actually quite impressive. i would also appreciate ratings for a couple of the top rated cable shows for comparison's sake.

I greatly appreciate that the household ratings and shares are back. Thank you for listening to our comments.

I am curious, though, why the Weekly Top 20 Prime Time Network Shows and Weekly Top 15 Cable Programs have not been updated since the results of the week of June 15-21. Any explanation?

OK, this is cool, the household ratings are back. And the new hourly breakdown for them is good, too.

It'd be great if someone at zap2it would update the cable ratings chart, which is several weeks old.

This is prime-time for cable and cable ratings should really be part of the overall ratings article anyway.

Contrary to the false impression given in the press, demo ratings are not "all-important" at all.

They are safely ignored as any show that is saved "because it did well in the Demo" is really a show that has powerful friends in the executive offices and demo performance is just a smokescreen.

Drop Dead Dive got a little over 2 million viewers, which the trade press obligingly called a "hit", but I think is really a bog disappointment as it didn't even equal the rather paltry ratings of Army Wives.

The Nielsen site we use has changed and so we can't seem to get the latest weekly numbers. We're hoping that they're just getting the bugs out and we'll see them up and running again soon.

Yes, thanks to you Hanh. I'm glad to see that SOMEBODY from Zap2It actually reads these comments, since I've long wondered about that.

It's been a busy week, so let me be the last to thank you for the new reporting format, even if it does render my mock obit pointless.

I also appreciate Hanh's response. I'm glad that you check in on us occasionally, and answer a few of our nosy questions about the backstage doings.

Keep it handy, I'm sure the networks will try and kill HH/share ratings again soon. ;)
