Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.
Bisphenol A (BPA) which is used in the production of plastics such as water bottles and children's toys has been shown to mimic estrogenic effects tricking the body to responding to it as an estrogen; many plastics manufacturers such as Nalgene have gone back to the drawing board to eliminate this substance from their products.
Diethylstilbestrol (DES) was a synthetic estrogen and given to pregnant mothers to "help prevent miscarriages" from 1945-1970 until it was shown to cause rare vaginal cancers, reproductive system structural damage, brain structures of either both or the opposite gender, to cause lab animals to act as the other gender after birth and many other gender defining characteristics.
In essence even though transgender people have always been around it seems that humans in their effort to progress themselves have put substances into the world around us propagating not only transgender persons but many ills as well (cancers, biological agents, etc.).
Last year at the annual meeting of the American Medical Association (the governing body of American physicians) added language to their charter prohibiting the prejudice of transgender individuals from medical schools, hospitals, etc. This wonderful occurrence will hopefully be the first step in getting transgender individuals full medical coverage for their condition as well.
Search out the science, teach yourself, toss aside your prejudices and hatred based on stereotypes, free your mind.
I am proud to be a transgender woman! Go Isis! very well spoken....but I doubt seriously America is going to let 'em win.
