Aflac Pulls Ads from 'The Savage Nation'

First of all - good for AFLAC - a squared away company Second of all - I can not believe in this day and age that Savage maintains this view. Is he saying this because he wants to be confrontational and hopefully attract more listeners? I occasionally listen to his radio show (not any more)
I am the grandfather of an autistic youngster. He is a sweet and loving young man (14). He is brilliant. He is tall and handsome, and if one looked at him one would assume he is "normal," whatever that is today. These youngsters have processing problems. They are like computers, in that, they take in all sounds. Their brains are constantly busy. Not like us, they can't take a break, unless they are sleeping. They all have different likes and dislikes. But, make no mistake, they hear everything. Our family has worked very hard with my grandson. We cut him not slack. It was not easy. This young man is my daughter's only child. Both she and her husband are loving parents, and have taught him a great deal, so that he will be able to cope as well as he can in the world we all live in. We know how cruel we can be to persons whom we think are different. But, there for the grace of God, go we or maybe a loved one. So, be tolerant of others, Michael, and if you want to learn about autism, purchase Temple Grandin's book. All parents and relatives of autistic young men and women have a tough road to hoe with little or no financial assistance from federal, state or local governments, except for a few municipal governments. Instead of being naysayer, get the facts and get behind the movement to support these young men and women.

It's one think to attack the horrible practice in this country of over-medicating and over diagnosing. But to attack children with autism as 99% brats. That is low and disgusting. Luckily for Salvage he knows no one that is Autistic and even luckier for those with Autism they don't have this ignorant %^*@ in their lives. My niece and nephew are better people than he could ever be.
