If you have been a follower of this band since 81 you have had to have listened to all of their previous albums. Their inxs, kick, listen like thieves, full moon dirty heart and just about every other one they did not only so much better but in a class of its own>EVERY ONE OF THEM. To compare their switch stuff with any of these and then proclaim that it is as good as these is ludicrous and your statement just a joke. Yeah, its your opinion but how embarrasing to say that.
Fortune is an impersonator with a good voice and kisses every band members ass to insist he is the one and only big fan of theirs. Perhaps that is where you get the idea of dna in his blood. Pitiful. This band is no longer inxs. When michael died and they decided to get another singer to front them they should have changed their name. Period. As far as their choice to front the band he isa poser who has studied michael's moves and videos in depth and being the Elvis impersonator that he is he only changed from Elvis to Michael to copy.

maybe it is just me but that whole tv show thingy to pick the new singerr was the most white bread velveeta cheeseball thing i have ever witnessed in my entire life.... i lost all respect for the band after that primetime pile of poop.

Why would inxs keep jd when there are so many other talented and better singers who could front the band without having a fans picture of Michael ripped up and starting trouble with Rhett on the tour at one of the gigs?.
there are many new singers who can write songs if that is the reason they picked him.
Mark Spano on Australian Idol is fantastic and you can tell he believes in the lyrics and sings them that way. He doesn't impersonate Hutch like jd. He is just one of so many talents who could help write songs with Andrew or the others and who sings them with passion and originality.

um pauly you can very well include fortune in the credibility or non credibilty for a serious singer. he's worthless.

What a joke. Just like Paul Rogers, Brian May, Danny Miranda and whomever is on drums is a great band... they are not Queen. Daltrey + Townsend without Entwistle is still a great band, but NOT the WHO. I would have rather have seen the guys from INXS re-invent themselves with maybe even a female lead, but they are no longer INXS, just a band using the same name playing the same songs. It's almost sad. I'd rather see them in a new band, thinking MH is somewhere looking down smiling than seeing them imitate what once was.

And for those that think they actually "picked" the current guy via that show... get real. There was a spoiler site that was posting the press photos of the new band weeks before the show ended. Sure I guess they did pick him, but it was done early on. Once they got to the last six or so... it was all about entertainment and getting those who had talent into new contracts and such to help their individual careers.

Not that any of that is a bad thing... but was just surprised that with all the talent available in the world, they ended up with an Elvis impersonator, and not a very good one at that.

That's because he's like those Troglodytes on American Idol.... he can sing but he can't write lyrics. He's not an artist just a flash in the pan.

So true miles from WA. They are great bands but with such an important member of the band gone they are not the same band. Inxs is just NOT inxs anymore without michael hutchence. They had the best and now the have the worst. They changed things up and should have listened to their own lyrics Don't Change A Thing.
The only exception would be to change the name of the band.

JD Fortune is no Michael at all. I would not pay to see him trying to immitate Michael. I loved Michael and I have seen the band perform live in the states and at Wembly July 13, 1991 will never forget it. No one, and I mean no one can replace Michael. He was a beautiful man not only in looks, but he was sweet, kind and a very gentle man. Michael was born cool, you cannot manufacture cool..You can try...but JD is not him...

JD Fortune is no Michael, and he is trying really hard to be Michael. I will not pay to see INXS today if JD Fortune is the leading man. You cannot create cool, you have to be born cool like Michael was and forever will be. Cannot substitute a great singer with mediocrity..I don't think so. I have seen INXS in the US and live at Wembley Stadium, July 13, 1991, and no one can touch him. Hutch was not only beautiful to look at, but also beautiful on the outside and extremely talented....Shine like it does.....

Agree with the poster from ventura, ca. Michael was the greatest singer and an original. His personality was his own and as you said you cannot create cool. Such a great statement.
I hope Michael is listed among the top greatest singers along with Bono and Morrisson. He was and still is the Rockgod.

You hit it right Shane, Michael wasn't just the lead singer, same for Morrison,Bono and if I may add a few more, Jagger,Fogerty,Jeff Lynne (E.L.O.),Buddy Holly (the Crickets went on without Buddy, but it was a bad idea).
In some cases the lead singer is the band.
I have never heard J.D. so I really have no opinion of him, but Michael was Inxs.
