They certainly could find bette haunted places then gettysburgs they should check out sites like www.hauntedamericatours.com and the theshadowlands.net before making a place like that it's main focus.

Not that Gettysburg is not haunted it's just their are stories on these sites of cities that Americans would be more intrested in. Gettysburg in my oppinion is over done and too over rated.

I'm sure the show will be going to other sites as well. Keep in mind the historical significance of the site in combination with the paranormal interest. I don't see how you can say it's over done. In G'burg the whole town and the surrounding area is the focus not just a building or two. Most locations cannot offer that.

im sure they know all about other haunted places in the us and im sure they either have covered them,or will be covering them.they do have a show about haunted america.

gettysburg is a awesome place.i like to go ghost hunting, ive been up and down the east cost.from haunted lighthouses in maine,to salem.mass,to a old voodoo house in florida and gettysburg is still one of the best,if not the best, haunted place to visit.

Maybe you should spend a little time doing your history before you say gettysburg is over rated

Apparently the bimbo hostess on that lame show doesn't know anything about superintendent Latschar's stand on ghost hunting. Or anything about how Gettysburg, it's people and businesses did absolutely nothing about letting King Latschar change the off-season hours. Or how they said nothing when the King compared ghost hunters to druggies, drinkers, and vandals.

I'm not a fan of this show but I am a fan of the show Ghost Hunters. They did a show at the Cashtown inn and the episode is still one of the best I think they did and their on their 4th or 5th season. Those guys are legit and professional. It's hard for me to trust other people because they are to quick to say something is haunted when it more than likely isn't.

Is this Gettysburgs way of drawing in more tourist? Face it, Majority of Civil War buffs come for the re-enactment, once that is done what do you have left? Re-enactment is one weekend a year..... but the ghost are here year round.

I'm just not sure if this is more about ghost, or business.

Detailer: Gettysburg has averaged over 2 million visitors a year for many years, long before the recent "ghost" craze. The Civil War buffs are not there for only one weekend. Go to Gettysburg anytime from the end of April to the end of November (just after Remembrance Day) and you will see how many buffs are there.

Gettysburg had a great business long before the "ghost craze" and it was supported solely by the Civil War buffs.

For the skeptics: there ARE always two sides to every opinion. For those who have experienced the REAL visitations, they will heartily agree that there are hauntings in Gettysburg! Adams, Franklin, York counties are rich in history and hauntings.
To "717hiya". What is the relevance of your comment "ps. skateboarding is gay"? Not that I really desire an answer... So many words in comment are pure sludge; a waste of time.

Gettysburg residents did try to prevent the change in park hours. In fact, the original plan was to close the park at dusk. Through emails, letters and phone calls, those who use the park at night (joggers, ghost hunters, etc) managed to have the time changed only during the off season months Nov 1st through March 31st. Also, while I disagree with generalizing about a group of people, i.e., ghost hunters, I can also say I see how those conclusions are being drawn. Having investigated Gettysburg for many years (way before the ghost craze started), I have witness absolutely rude and distructive behavior of so called ghost hunters- most of whom are tourists. Unfortunately most people remember the negative things that happen and don't remember that there are also decent people on the battlefield who respect the land and what it represents.

i have the upmost respect for gettysburg.the events that took place there had a affect on american history in a drastic way.it wont matter if i would move to thiland,i would always have a special place for gettysburg, some of the best times of my life were spent there.anyone that would destroy/disrespect that land is just a plain a-hole.

this is not ok... look at all the evil things happening in Gettysburg Area... people coming to conjure up spirits and telling ghost stories? Inviting the satanist and just inquisitive from other areas with the acceptance the paranormal for profit.... these people are inviting "spirits" but not necessarily all with good intentions or desiresare showing up... How about the murders, stabbings, animal sacrifices and satanic symbols showing up in our area...The energy being set free by these trying to make a buck are creating a very unsafe environment.
I am not a fanatical christian, but someone who knows what the energy of evil can bring. Do not invite it....
This is not something to be happy about.

The off-season months you mentioned are also the darkest months. When it comes to ghost hunting that's hardly a compromise. Latschar got exactly what he wanted which is why he never even bothered having public meetings concerning the change. He always ignored public opinion anyway. Always.

I was in Gettysburg during much of the 30-day period when he claimed he'd listen to phone calls, letters, etc. What a joke. I have a friend on the inside at the NPS who shall remain nameless because he/she knows what kind of backstabber Latschar is. This friend said the NPS received many 1000s of comments concerning the potential change. Latschar told the media he received less than 300.

Virtually none of the comments came from businesses in Gettysburg, including those phony ghost tours. At the time, Mark Nesbitt's tours were the most popular and even his Web site was completely mute on the subject. Why? Simple. Why have tourists roaming around the battlefield like they have for decades when they could be stuck in town at night spending money?

Calling what Latschar did a compromise is akin to seeing gas double in price, come down several cents, and thinking you're getting a deal. Nope. Doesn't work that way.

Good for them who wish to hunt. Have fun and learn. Just remember that to learn, you need to have an open mind. It's all about respect for each other (and their opinions) including those who have passed. As someone said earlier, it's not just in Gettysburg. Check out www.peergb.com
