TV cop hangs up his badge

I watch Law&Order CI every week without fail and all the reruns and you can see how much Vincent D'Onofrio has changed over time but I just love the show and it isn't the same without him and his regular partner. I hope that he doesn't hang up his badge, it would be a great loss.

The article that was written for an Aussie newspaper is fabricated! D'Onofrio's rep states that Vincent will honor his contractual obligation and IS NOT leaving Law & Order: CI...right now!!
It seems, that we may have at least a Season 7... But who really knows for sure, NBC hasn't allowed us that much information for now. But we can always watch "re-runs" of our favorite "quirky" and procedural driven detective of the Major Case Squad at least twice per day...and more than that on Sundays!! |

I also read in the National Enquirer that Vincent was leaving due to boredum. But then I read in the same magazine a few weeks ago that he was looking forward to his character going a new direction, if his mother does not survive this season. If he does not have to worry about his mother his character will have time for a "love interest". So who knows what the real truth is. I hope he does not leave, I will have to stop watching.

I just read the aussie article about Donofrio leaving Criminal Intent and they got several facts about him wrong which leads me to believe the article is fabricated. They stated he was 45 years old when he is 47. They also stated his marriage to his second wife is "disolved" but the last I heard he is still married to Van der Dork. I wonder where they are getting their facts?

Vincent, why leave, everyone loves you on the show. The show just cannot go on without you. Criminal Intent was my favorite Law & Order. But now that you are leaving, I guess SVU will be my favorite with Richard Belzer. I hated that you didn't get to do the show every week. But please, Vincent don't leave the show, please!!!!!!!!!! I hope this stroy is not true

If you read all of the relevant news articles Carefully you will come to understand that it won't be D'Onofrio who is quitting...however it is likely NBC will not renew CI for a 7th Season (both it and L&O the original cost NBC too much money which is a major reason why Balcer and a whole bunch of production people left at the end of the 5th season of CI and there's a whole bunch of clueless newbies running the show in the current 6th season).

i need to know if there will be a seventh season of law & order: ci. i hope so because i love detective goren and detective eames. i watch the show everyday! and...i dont think vincent is leaving because he said he was going to fulfill his contract. i think, however, that people should see vdo in a new light...by "new light" i mean even happier and more vivid than he was in the beginning. i think if the producers would've somehow tried to preserve goren's original personality, the show would not have dropped so much in ratings. he is the life of the show...many many many people watch the show just to see him as the beloved bobby goren, and it would be terrible if the show was canceled. i would be very, very sad. if someone has a definite answer from a believable source, can ya post it up so i can get some relief? lol

Not only do we need a seventh season of law and order: ci with goren, we need an 8th, 9th and 10th. Law & order: CI is the BEST show on television....It doesn't matter to viewers if we watch it on NBC or USA, just as long as airs with Vincent D'Onofrio as the main star.(No offense to Chris Noth.) I would love to Goren with a "love interest" if we are lucky enough to have him for the 7th season. Please have him also renew his contract. If it is true that Noth is making more money then D'Onofrio, I just have to ask myself - why would you do that?...D'Onofrio is Law & Order - Criminal Intent. And it would be nice to have the old Captain back, this one just doesn't seem to fit right. With out D'Onofrio, it doesn't really matter to me if Law & Order: CI airs or not, on any channel.

I just read the comment from "No Absolution" and also the rest of the comments. Gentlepeople, the man is just an actor and a human being, who has needs and obsessions. He is not a god. He acts in a series, not to be worshiped. Actors have a hard time as it is, with all the daily happenings. We just have to see the movie news. Remember, we are the fans only. They need privacy, like we like privacy.I can also see, if it's true about the 'absolution gal'that men are men and will have needs whether weird or not.As far as he and his second wife being divorced, I have not heard that they are back again. Why did he sell his condo? Where did he go?

Dear "No Absolution", aren't you bound by some sort of prostitute-john privilege or confidentiality? Well, maybe not, but it sounds like you've kind of developed a friendship with him, even though it also has a pecuniary aspect to the friendship. I guess I'm just trying to say that I'm surprised you're telling these tales out of school.
I also provide professional services to people and I would consider it a bit of a breach of my relationship with them to expose their "weaknesses" to other clients or to the general public. I'm not judging here -- just curious. Also wondering, do you find someone's sexual behavior to be a reliable window into their general personality or outlook in life? |

no absolution, aren't you ashamed of yourself for gossiping about someone else's personal weaknesses? that is, if you really DO know what you're talking about ... buyer beware: a lot of people fantasize about vdo on the web. i am not one of those women. i just appreciate his art.
and what's wrong with trying to do right by his kid? everybody struggles with these issues. everybody can change. maybe instead of selling your body you should pray for him. |

Everyone is curious even those who waggle their finger and cluck at you. |
