Of course there are. This is part of a decades-long propaganda campaign designed to normalize homosexual behavior and alter centuries-long perceptions of this behavior. Using popular media and the entertainment culture to do so is part of the playbook. Its how we are told to question everything about a VP nominee's qualifications, while asking none about a Presidential nominee's. The portrayal of homosexuals in the popular media is 100% positive. No deviation from this line is allowed. If you don't toe the line, your career is destroyed. Ask the guy from Grey's Anatomy, or Tim Hardaway. Its the Fascist Left at work, and we see the results. This article is part of the indoctrination. No differing opinions allowed, uncomfortable facts are excluded. It's called "tolerance".

Ah yes you prove my point. Any deviation from the line is met with immediate, viscious personal attacks. Thanks for advancing leftwing intolerance.

And what "gay bashings" are those? Religious bashings? Lotsa them. Conservative bashings? Ditto. Gay bashings? A myth, designed to silence anyone with opposing views. Thanks for proving my point.

Unfortunately, the books that appeal to most of the religious right-wing bigots are already checked out of the library by the 5 year old children of the liberals.

Matthew Sheppard - huge story, wall-to-wall coverage, TV movies, front page news, all designed to show the results of "homophobia". Two gay guys kidnap a young boy then sexually torture and kill him? Uh that's not such a story so your not going to hear about. That's what's not positive. It doesn't advance the agenda.

Again, disagree with the Gay Agenda and you are a childlike religious bigot. How very Stalinist of you, Ralph. That's a good little brown shirt.

Yes. Let's pretend that gays & lesbians don't exist in the real world. If they don't exist, then there's no need to have them on TV. And there's no more racism, so no need for any Black folks, cause all you're doing is promoting the Black agenda.... Sorry, sounds stupid no matter how I change it around.

You do sound stupid but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Of course this is just deflection and backatcha. Nobody's saying to exclude anyone, but how about some honest portrayal, instead of 100% fawning portrayals, coupled with intimidation and vitriol to anyone not toeing the line. The Velvet Mafia fears an honest look, because their causes and agenda would go down the tubes. Discipline must be maintained, and it is.

Nobody's saying that. They should be portrayed honestly. When they are, its called stereotyping, when the true stereotyping is what we see everyday. You know: the Will&Grace happygolucky girlsbestfriend heartofgold neverthinkingaboutsex gayguy fighting the lowbrow religious bigots. That's the template and you disobey at your peril.

And you think Will & Grace is a positive portrayal of gays in TV and movies?
What exactly is going to happen to you if you "disobey at your own peril? Is this supposed velvet mafia going to gun you down? I think not.
You post a message stating that there is supposedly a gay agenda trying to alter the centuries long perception of gay behavior and claim this is the fascist left at work. And then, you try to blame people responding to your thread in a negative way. What kind of responses did you expect? If you can't take any heat honey, don't start a fire. And if you don't like gays on TV, don't watch them. It's really that simple.

I believe they should be portrayed honestly-- in that sense I think I agree with you.. The character Jack he was a huge stereotype flamboyant and sx starved -- But is was counterbalanced with the character Will... who could do no wrong and fought off all conservative evil and never had sx-- again a stereotype... but this is TV and almost no one is portrayed accurately. I do find it ironic how many people believe more gay men are like the character Jack over the character Will. of course they probably think Karen was a real person too.
Additionally many people seeem to think more lesbians are like Rosie Odonell than Ellen or Portia. It would be nice to see gays portrayed honestly. I'm not sure if TV is ready for gay's to be portrayed honestly . How about the trials and tribulations of a same sex couple raising 4 foster kids? No not as funny as the guy dressed in feathers. Personally I'm a history channel fan.
