Sky King?
Sigh. I used to watch Sky King and Penny and the gang. Haven't thought of them for years. It was on about the same time as My Friend Flika and The Lone Ranger.

For some reason the name of Sky King conjures in my feeble brain my grandfather's parsonage in Homestead Pennsylvania where everything was covered with soot and the pretty orange sulfur smoke used to roll out of the stack all day down at the mill at the foot of the hill. I'm trying to figure out why that should be. It seems like a very odd thing to be associated with that place. My grandfather didn't watch that show. He liked Amos n Andy, the TV version. My sister preferred My Friend Flika.

Dibert wrote: it's "cubicle" john, thank God I no longer occupy one such. best regards Strange things are happening, at the "Daily Breeze" in Torrance. How can John's cubicle turn into a "cubical"? And how did Matt Dillon's "Hände 'hoch'" turn into "hock"? Is the "Breeze" working with cheap illegals? Is it their new key to survival? But then again, who cares, with Wal-Mart just around the corner.

As long as we are going back, let's not forget the best of the bunch, Corporal Rusty and Private Rin Tin Tin.

J.W. Simms. Nope, the thought never crossed my mind. I don't know about the tablets. According to George Jessel he did stutter and that explained later Jewish history.

"The Emmy telecast is all the proof you need that TV watching doesn't have the impact it once did," said Bogert, "not in the old unifying sense."
Who needs anything unifying, when we have Big Brother. He takes care of us, in every way, everytime at anyplace. We are protected, if we "go with the flow." JFK just didn't listen, as David Powers said [re:"Johnny, We Hardly Knew Ye"].
Gary Powers found out about that too, when he ran out of fuel [1977].

Powers didn't run out of fuel, he was shot down. Eisenhower denied the flight as the Soviets reassembled the plane for the world to see.

Francis Gary Powers "ran out of fuel" upon his death in 1977. His U-2 aircraft was shot down out of the sky by Russians in 1960.

That Bogert guy should have mentioned our "TV Grandpappy" Gabby Hayes somehow in that write-up.

We all know that he got "shot down" in his U-2; but he was killed in California, when he crashed in 1977. They fixed his gage [KNBC helicopter], the night before. I'm sure Bogert knows about it.

Our noble Dr. Buerk from RPV is also hard to find. He was one of the founders, in 1973. He also founded the Alpine Brewery [Torrance], in 1988. And he was also a County Commissioner. The "Breeze" never talked about him, or his demise. There was also a Mike Randsall, who knew about these things [at least from 1978 on], and later worked for the "Breeze"; I can't find him either. He was very popular at the Alpine Village. The "owners" of the village were simply "fired," after fourty (40) years! Can you imagine? So, who are the real owners? Why were the Rotters [Hans and Teri] sacrificed? Teri was also the leader of the Samoans in the South Bay, and also a County Commissioner. And now they are dead-silent? What are they afraid of? But why would we need to know, we, the simple people of L.A.?

Don't live in LA, just pass through there on rare occasions, although I plan to come for a concert in October.
