These celebrities are SCUM and do a real disservice to minor children who are true and helpless victims of sexual abuse/molestation, which happens even to infants and toddlers!

That's probably one of the reasons that she ended up messed up. These fathers that do this have no regard for how it affects the mind of the daughter. Drugs are no excuse.

Don't you think that since she was 19 Y.O. and the sex was consensual (by her "confession") when she started giving up that goody to her dad, had she wanted out of a situation, she could have gotten out?? I find her timing for the release of this damning "revelation" against her dad, who by the way is no longer alive to defend himself, at the least, UNCANNY...only days before the release of her "tell all" trashy novel. All a publicity stunt. Why wait 30 years before revealing it. As with Jessica Lynch, who only five (5) days before the announcement of a million dollar book deal, "remembered" that she had been raped while a POW in Iraq. Why didn't she recall that when she was first rescued??? The Iraqi doctor said that it was a lie, and that her legs were in casts. These women are thriving on sensationalism and outright lies.

Now on tv they're discussing whether she should have come out with this or not and I couldn't believe my ears when people called in saying they approve and had a similar experience and think she'll possibly help someone else with these questionable revelations that are decades old. Her father is not even alive to defend himself!

This serves no purpose other than salacious ones imo. The public is well aware of child abuse as it has been well publicized for years now and many discussions have been held on the topic on various talk shows.

Oprah Winfrey claims to have been molested but imo she, like Mackenzie Phillips enjoyed and encouraged it, if true!

Is there nothing best left "quiet?" Must we now hear the sickening details not only of the molestation but the mutual enjoyment of such? How many cases will be encouraged rather than discouraged by such?

This book should never have been publicized imo!

I honestly don't know what to think about this as there's no way to truly know whether or not she's telling the truth. I do find it very odd that she would choose to reveal a secret such as this at this time. I can't see any reason why, other than financial, she would choose to reveal such a secret now after so many years have passed. IMO, some things are better kept private.

MP has to be broke and is hoping this will be money in the bank. I feel very sorry for her son and her other siblings. This has to be a major humiliation and embarrassment for them.

The only shock is that people believe this broad. She's making EVERYTHING up. And it's working.

I wonder why there are so many celebrities who have something like this revealed later in life? We have Oprah, Suzanne Somers, Rosie O'donnell, Roseanne Barr, Terry Hatcher, Queen Latifah... and probably some others I can't remember. Does this reflect the true proportion and we only hear about these because celebrities have high visibility, or did most of these people make things up for publicity reasons?
