Dec 22nd Court Date Results

Chapmans' Court Hearing

After being postponed earlier this month, the court hearing that could make or break Duane "Dog" Chapman, Leland and Tim Chapman began in Mexico Friday. The Chapmans'were not present, but their attorney represented them. The court heard both sides of the story, and then decided to recess and continue the hearing on January 16th,2007.

DOG UPDATE: According to Dog's lawyers, the hearing in Mexico went well. There was witness testimony from both sides, and the prosecution's side(against Dog) was weak, according to the lawyers. The local prosecutors who testified on behalf of Mexico just kept reading from the reports in the record, and they didn't add anything new to help the State's case. The questions from the judges seemed to be questioning whether the State really had a case. The only reason it wasn't settled today is that they ran out of time. They will continue on January 16th, 2007.

Official update for Duane Dog Chapman
Body: HONOLULU, HI – The Constitutional Hearing for Duane “Dog” Chapman, son Leland Chapman, and associate Tim Chapman commenced yesterday, as scheduled, in Guadalajara, Mexico, in the Federal District Court.

The Chapmans’ attorney, William Bollard, said that the hearing will continue after the court resumes its operations in January. The Mexican courts are closed during the holidays.

“We expect the court to finish the hearing in the next session, and take the matter under advisement and issue a written ruling at that time,” Bollard stated. He did not comment further on the case.

We will keep everyone advised as soon as we know the date for the next hearing session.
