One minor quibble: it would be great to have the two Simpsons episodes differentiated. After all, they were two different shows.

Go to Medialifemagazine.com . On the right you'll see a link for cable ratings. It's only a listing of the Top 25 shows of the week, not a complete or nightly rundown. I don't think you can find a complete rundown anywhere. Tvbythenumbers.com also has cable ratings with a bit more info, but it too doesn't provide all the numbers. They used to provide more numbers on everything, but Nielsen seems to have been clamping down on published data for some inane reason which only seems to make sense to them and no one else, at least not anyone in the real world.

If it's on cable what difference does it make anyway? If the ratings aren't easy to find you can bet the cable companies are behind it considering it to be proprietory information.'Defying Gravity' was a huge disappointment last night. It was so boring I fell asleep watching it and the ratings reflected that. Where's the sci-fi ? I'm not interested in extensive character studies.

I'm happy Millionaire tanked as that show needs to be gone and buried once and for all! Take a hike, Regis!

I bet ABC doesn't consider 7 million viewers as tanking. They're probably elated. Lots of summer series draw 7 million viewers and are considered successful, hits even. If it stays at 7 million or shows growth over the week, they should consider placing it in their fall or spring lineup to elevate some of their weaker nights.

They did have Millionaire on during the regular season ten years ago incessantly, which nearly killed the show, especially after they kept having the bedamned celebrity (aka "It's All For Charity, So It's a Tax Write-Off, Hooray!") editions. No, having it on for a one-time tenth anniversary is plenty. Any more than that, and ABC's ratings will sink lower than NBC's, and that's saying something.

NBC will rule the night when football returns. That will be the bright spot of their season.

It's possible the cable networks have been putting pressure on them as more data means fewer chances to try and pass off low-rated shows as "phemonenons" (yes I know technically it's supposed to be phenomena :))

For instance, I don't think the hype heaped on The Shield would have gone down so well had the paltry ratings of the show been widely publicized.

On the plus side, zap2it used to give the Top 15 and now gives the Top 20 (on the minus side it doesn't give household info any longer - write to them to see if it can be reinstated).

Speaking of Cable Hype, TNT has a promo saying that Dark Blue is TNT's "highest rated drama". What is confusing is that while Dark Blue is nowhere to be found in the Top 20,, The Closer (a drama from TNT) still appears in the Top 5 in spite of ebbing ratings...

Well... anything that hasn't been canceled yet is generally referred to as a "hit" by the network PR people. ;)

But that doesn't mean it's a hit. That Milionaire may not be doing as poorly as other shows doesn't make it a "hit", unless you agree with the change of definition the PR people are trying to make.

Yep. Even if the game itself sucks (and a few last season did), NBC has a good thing in Sunday Night Football. Having said that, I expect them to sell it off to Telemundo any day now, given the "geniuses" that infest their programming department nowadays.

Speaking of CW, the only reason Easy Money is still on is because without it Gossip Girl would be the lowest rated show of the summer!! ;)

It says a lot when the one bright spot is the one show you didn't produce yourself... ;)
