Sesame Street to Celebrate 40 Years of Family TV

Google's Doodle today celebrates both the Sesame Street Anniversary which will occur on Nov. 10th, when its 40th season begins. It's also a celebration of Big Bird's birthday, although in terms of his Sesame Street age, he's effectively frozen at six years old.

40 years, thats hard to believe ! Sesame Street used to be alot better, the last 15 years it has slid downhill.

While I grew up on and love Sesame Street as a child, any "children's programing" can be bad.

Not that the producers of these shows have ill intentions its just that sometimes they can be incorrect, insensitive, or confusing.

For instance, there was a Dora the Explorer episode where they taught the word "Salsa" as in the dance. They used the word interchangeably with "dance" which isn't correct.

Point is, don't let these shows be the sole teachers in your young children's lives. The TV is not a baby sitter. Nor are public schools.

Sesame Street ruined a good show, after Jim Henson died. The show should be called Elmo St., thats pretty much the whole show. And putting cookie monster on a diet, is ridiculous. Its a friggin kids show, leave the PC crap out of it.

LOL didnt know you were that passionate about your sesame street. And yes it does suck now that the PC police took over. Remember cookies are only a "sometime snack." Had to get rid of poor Oscar the Grouch's garbage can, because the homeless might get offended. Awww. See what happens when you elect democrats, they pussy everything up. They have no problem sending a teenage girl to the abortion clinic, but dammit cookie monster, you better eat your veggies, or we might get offended.
