David Cook wins "American Idol" battle of the Davids

The duel between two Davids brought an estimated 30.6 million viewers to the Fox finale of "American Idol," Nielsen Media Research reported Thursday.

A vote for Archuletta would have been a vote for his overbearing father who appears to be an evil puppet master.

I think if Archuleta had sung "Apologize" on Tuesday, he would have had a greater chance of winning. He has incredible talent but failed to demonstrate he could be current until it was too late. The only current song he sang was Chris Brown's song and that was a disaster. Certainly not the song for him. I liked both Davids and felt either of them deserved it but was leaning more towards Cook because he was so flexible and current.

One person may have won the actual title Of American Idol , but those top 10 are all winners. They will be going on a year tour and get all kinds of exposure and more often than not most of them will get a record deal. Example: Taylor Hix won the title but some of the runners up have made more records. Chekezie, Syeesha, Arch and others will still have their day!

I am happy about this American Idol, this season really did have all the great singers. Some of them sang so well I cried. The two Davids are very good, I could not vote because I liked them both, I didn't have a clue who would win.
