David Cook is the new "American Idol"

Once we got to the 12, I was rooting for both David A. and David C. to be the finalists. My heart was for David C. but my head told me David A. because I felt [being so young] he needed the structure an American Idol contract would give him; plus, protect him financially from his family. I am thrilled David C. won but hope that a honest record producer will take David A. under his wing...he is a very, very talented young man and has his whole life ahead of him. Thank goodness there are laws to protect child entertainers from family members who would take advantage of the situation; his father did seem a little obsessive.

why does an idol have to shave? I don't see no shaving going on dave cooks face.

It was the most emotional AI I ever watched!! His poor brother dying of brain cancer. He has a wonderful family!

Does it matter who won. Both those young men showed real class.
