Monk is consistently the best show on TV. Can't wait for the news episodes.

Whenever any of us wonder what is wrong with society today, we should simply reference this list - at least the top 7 picks!

Mr. Boedeker, you called this one in.

The "power" of the Sentinel (or what is left of it), is the ability to be local. You failed us with this story.

First, the printed version of this piece featured giant pictures of the national television shows you referenced. Next time sweeps rolls in, cut the clip art that is farmed out by a publicist or gathered from the AP and use the space to be local. Create a graph listing the local ratings for local newscasts in an easy to compare chart.

Second, You mention WOFL's 10 show. How is the WFTV-produced 10 o'clock newscast on channel 27 doing? Dare I mention WOFL is also doing a local 11 o'clock newscast (did you know that?). Why no mention of it?

Third, speaking of ratings, nowhere do you mention the local news race in the morning. WKMG took high-profile primetime anchor Lauren Rowe and sent her to the a.m. shift to fix sagging numbers. Is it working? WESH sent Clare back to Volusia and Marc away for a younger desk. Since then, we've seen Tom and Sally only to roll in and then roll out. Is round three going any better?

Forth, WESH, WFTV and WOLF are investing significant resources into local news coverage AFTER 7 a.m. on sister channels. How are these new local programs doing against the likes of Today on NBC, Good Morning America on ABC, American Morning on CNN, etc.

Fifth, do I dare mention that News 13 also wakes up early and goes all day long covering local events?

(How many times do I need to mention local?)

Hal, give us a story. Not a sidebar. It sounds like you're working more and more from the sidelines. Enjoy the beach (your lackluster reporting is already on it).
