'American Idol' itself deserves a vote of no-confidence - Show ...

If you're an "American Idol" viewer like me, you're probably feeling a bit taken for granted right about now.

I think the show is a sham! I don't watch the show much, but when I do its only because my wife loves the show. People should see the show for what it is,just a ratings game. They keep the contestants who have little talent ,get rid of the ones who do. its fixed! The reason for this is simple, These situations create contraversy, contraversy creates good ratings because people get sucked into it and keep watching every week even though they know the people they keep can't sing. Actual the contestants who have been voted off the show have had better success in their careers then those who who have won the show, thats why they go on the show in the first place. It gives them exposer.

Just to add another 2cents to my last post the judges are fakes too! The krap with Paula Abdul is proof of that.

I cant imagine wasting my time watching some stupid, staged reality show like American Idol. I already waste too much time on here.

I dont watch any network TV. The only thing I hear about are reality shows, detective shows and sitcoms that lack the most important element, comedy. It seems that with the competition from cable, network TV has become insipid.

Jason shouldn't still surviving in American Idol because he's not a good singer. Peoples voted him because of his look, this is unfair to another contestants who really can sing.

I find Jason's voice so soothing. He is an original. David A has been primed since birth for this. David C had an album and SY is like so many other female singers. I have not bought a CD for many years but I will buy Jason's.

I agree on this article. This season AI is definitely boring and clearly revealed the show was rigged.

At top 12, I also thought that the finalists were quite strong, maybe strongest overall ever in AI shows. However, week by week, producers and judges intentionally put strong competitors like Carly and Michael in peril and makes David-David set. David A - a perfect idol product for them. David C - maybe they didn't like him at first, but found his value in the show business. Yes, he knows the game. he wants to win the game, that's what producers want for money.

Maybe it is time to terminate the show or completely change the whole show - change judges (all three) and replace producers. Ryan? maybe he can stay not to lose a complete AI image.

I don't care if the show stays or goes. Not my type of music. I like real instrumentation and song-writing. I don't care how the singer looks or even if their voice is perfect. Passion and good instrumentation accompanying the voice is what matters.

In my opinion, american idol represents a big part of what's wrong with America.... Instead of going out and seeking music that we enjoy, we want it to be served to us on a silver platter. It MUST be good if everyone else is listening to it, right?

I think they get a lot of viewers with little effort. It seems like a waste of time to watch both nights shows just so you can see the vote off. They keep playing the same things over and over. It is a lot more fun to watch when they just begin the process with the amatures. It is getting very BORING.

If IDOL is to remain successful, I would like to see;
1. Voting online 1 vote (IP addresses logged)
2. Texting 1 vote (phone# logged)

Either this, or leave it entirely to the judges. This year was a great example, they started with some really good talent, and by the time they were down to the last 6, only 2 were worth watching. It has become a popularity contest instead of a talent show, which drastically cuts the entertainment value.
