I think that David Archuleta is going to be the next American Idol, because
he has a great voice and a cute face. He is a well put together guy.

David A. does two songs that are on the most worm sheet in a karaoke bar and everyone is amazed. And he used to sing to his dog. Lovely.

If it wasn't for the teen girl votes he'd been gone already.
Sorry for Paul

To Paul of Anniston, Al. I guess you are deaf, you clearly don't recognize music from noise. And mind you, I have read and heard so many times, that not only teen girls vote for David A, it is also the 20's, 30's 40's, 50's and 60's. I for one is in the 50's category. So, if you don't like him, sorry, many people does.

David A. has a very "airy" voice. It's not a nice voice, everything he sings sounds the same, he is going to end up on the Disney channel. I hope David Cook wins. At least he can actually sing current music and not old crap that's been resung over and over again.

Hummmmm....haven't followed this season....I did like it that he did not copy Elvis's version and just did it in his own style...If he would have tried to sound like Elvis he would have only looked foolish.

I have not followed any condenders to compare and just looked this up on youtube this morning as a curious ELVIS fan :) as I thought some in the Elvis forum might like to see it also.

I just can't imagine listening to an entire David A album. How would you know which track you're listening to without the benefit of the little display on your ipod/CD player? I hope he goes next week, as David C and Syesha would make for a more enjoyable final.

David Archuleta has a nice voice, but seems to over-sing everything he does. I positively cringed when he sang Neil Diamond songs. It was horrible. I can't believe he gets positive review from the judges nearly every time. Perhaps it's because he has a stage father who would beat the crap out of him if he got negative feed-back. He has not been entitled to positive judging every time, but he's gotten it.

David Cook didn't do real well either. He could have done a lot with "Hungry Like A Wolf", but really blew it. It was boring and the second one was no better.

The one I'm surprised at being gone is Carley Smithson. She was the best and I fully expected her to stay until the end. Brook should have gone the week they eliminated Carley Smithson. Brook was really bad her last week.

Syesha, I don't think she has deserved negative feed-back as often as she has gotten it. She did well with both songs last night. I think one of the dudes in the band has taken a real shine to her - just an observation.

His intrepretation of Elvis' "Love me tender" was pretty good, at best. He emphasized the words, and only went over the top at one of the verses. After iI saw it on you.tube, I immediately watched Elvis' performance of the song in 1956, also on you.tube, and of course it gave me the chills to see how simple, but haunting, was he vocal on that performance.

Nevertheless, it was not enough to throw mud at David's version. For that to happen, I had to watch David's performce again, then switch to Elvis' 1968 rendering of the song.

And that was actually enough to erase David's performance from one's mind.

The delivery, both vocally and how he paces around the stage, the smile, it was just too powerful...

I am so over American Idol.

The only reason I watch anymore is to see what kind of hijinx Paula will pull this week! She pretty much confirmed it in my mind that AE is fixed last week with her comments about song that HADN'T EVEN BEEN SUNG! Love that!

She is a hot mess!!!

I don't think so. I've known for weeks that David Cook is the one. This isn't a popularity contest! YOU must be the one that is tone deaf.

Who cares who wins? It's always the 2nd place winner who has the better career, with the exception of Carrie Underwood.

Little girls, to be sure are going crazy voting for David A. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when those same little girl's parents scream in their faces about the phone bill.

This is music and singing. We have opinions, preferences. Slamming one contestant b/c we prefer anoter is a pure waste of your time but it sure gets bloggers and cyber-columnists alot of attention and hits. Lot's of Pop music is slow and medium tempo, not just fast Rock Didn't you read the 500 songs from the Rock Hall of Fame? Did Elivs sing "Love Me Tender" fast? Go to iTunes and look up both songs - tons of people have sung and sold the song and their versions are different.
If you don't prefer a genre of music, so be it and then tell us why you prefer your favorite Idol. Personal and professional attacks are just cheap shots ppl. I also think some of you have unresolved teeenage angst and need some help; afterall, most of you guys didn't have girls screaming at you when you were teens--however, it was probably one of your dreams. Get over it guys.
Boring, robotic, disney-esque, stage dad, same old songs plus other characterization I won't repeat. Sheesh...get over it; the kid has talent whether you like it or not; he acts like a normal 17 year old--good for him.

I'm pretty sure more than just teenage girls will be voting for him. My mom thinks he the best. I should know. I had to listen to her go on and on. LOL

Amy, if people "get over it" like you say, you wouldn't have anything to read or respond to here.
