'American Idol' Top Four Can't Stop the Rock - David Archuleta ...

David Cook showed star quality during Baba O'Riley, And, just to clear up confusion, Tommy Lee would be touring with Supernova and not Motley Crue this summer if David Cook had competed on CBS' ROCKSTAR...'nough said

Neither of Archie's songs were rock songs (What's up with that?). He sang well, he'd be the best at the local high school talent show.

you know, Randy can pimp Archie all he wants... but he only stood up for one contestant this season...

David Cook is the best whatever this column says, I've voted so many times for him, he's is the winner. Archuleta sucks!

This is simply the oddest Idol season ever...I'm so bored by this group this year. Who is helping them pick the songs???

What I would have wanted to hear:

Cook: A Jackson Brown rocker song instead of Duran Duran.

Jason: Bob Marley's "Jammin" instead of the Sherrif song. and maybe one of James Taylor's songs or just maybe, something from Pink Floyd.

Syesha: Good choices...no problems with either song

Arch: I wish we could have seen a rocker edge come out tonight, but then the 12YO audience might not like him as much as him asking them to love him tenderly.

Are you all tone deaf? They all suck, I have to cover my ears when I walk through the room while my wife is watching, just dreadful.

Jason Castro is trash.....untalented, waste-of-time, trash. And then there's his singing ability. Oh yeah, he doesn't have it. He had deserved to go home for well over a month now, giving week after week of bad performances. That trend continued tonight, and he even threw in forgetting his lyrics to boot.
David A was right on target with each song. His vocals are always spot on, with a fantastic clarity about them.
David C was terrible with his first song, and ok again with the second.
Syesha.....I DESPISED her pathetic, wannabe-ish Tina Turner impersonation. Her second song was just boring as crap. She has good chops, just doesn't do anything interesting with them.(but her 'assets' are impressive).

The most intriguing thing to me about tonight's show is how did Rascal Flatts go from AI on Fox to performing live on Dancing With The Stars on ABC the next hour?

Carly should have been on the stage tonight as I felt she was in the top three with the two Davids. She is one of the best.

Jason goes home. He has charisma and that's what's kept him on so long, not the same quality of talent.

Archuleta has the best voice of all the group. His voice is inspirational. Whatever David produces I'll buy all of his music.

Syeshia did the best this week over all of her performances.

Best performance of the night: David Cook (despite not quite good song choice, e.g. Duran Duran ?!). Actually this is the only singer left in competition after Carly, Michael Johns and Brook have been voted off.

Mediocre - Seysha; Nice body language but two bad performances. However, she deserves to face Cook in the final round.

Jason? How is he still here? The poor guy cannot hit high tones.

David Archuletta. Atrocious performance with Love me tender, while the first song was almost bad. It's a shame that judges continue to praise his performances over and over again. It's a lack of respect regardless the other contestants, as well as the audience (except, of course the preteen girls crazy about Little D). With Randy and Simon pushing Archuletta up, we may have another Taylor Hicks winner!!!

So two weeks in a row of throwing Jason under the bus. Actually three if you count Andrew Lloyd Webber.

I am 100% positive now that Jason is getting more votes then ARchuleta but the producers are so desperate for a David vs David finale that they are pulling all the stops out to get rid of Jason. His Sheriff was not that bad to deserve what he got.Personally I don't like Bob Marley all that much but Jasom was being himself. A

Even though Jason forgot the lyrics (Remember Archuleta forgot the lyrics of We Can Work it Out three times and again a few week back but the camera conveniently went to an above him angle) Mr. Tambourine man was still cool. And I want to buy it from Itunes.

That being said I don't think he deserves to win. David Cooke is so far ahead of the competition it is not even funny. After rewatching some performances last night I believe the finale should definitely have been David Cooke vs Carly. If she just sang and didn't talk it probably would have been.

Okay here's the deal with Archie. His dad should have waited a few years for him to join this competition. No denying he has a great instrument and he's got the young spiritual thing going. But he needs serious vocal training. Or maybe just a break. yes he hits big notes. But you have to hear him breathing when he's not hitting those big notes. He needs to learn how to breathe. You should not hear him breathinh that loudly in a two minute song. Either he needs vocal lessons or his voice is too tired. His voice has cracked two or three times in the competition already (the judges never mentioned this but I have seen reviews that have so I'm not crazy). Plus he is not a strong performer(even Jason has a better stage presence). And he is a one trick pony.

Sooooooooooooo disagree. What do you mean Cook in the bottom 2???? Thats ridiculus. Tomorrow its either Jason or Syesha, come on, Syesha of course amazing singer, but she has been one too many times in the bottom 2 or 3 or whatever, how many lives can a singer have?? And Jason, a stoner that probably doenst remember what song he did the morning after. One of them has to go to leave the David's at the final. I swear to God if this show pulls a Daughtry on me again I will kick my television set!

I agree with you all the way. I wasn't the biggest fan of Syesha in the early weeks. But she definitely has gotten more likable in recent weeks, I'm glad she's still there - she puts a lot of effort and heart into her performances. Jason Castro needs to go - sooo many people could outdo him. I think, and predict, Jason and David C. this week's bottom 2.

Nice recap, Daniel, as always. I'm also too lazy to do the research to find out about your "Stoney Brooke" and "Lullaby Joslin" references, but I'm sure they would be funny as well. What in the world possessed David C. to do Hungry Like the Wolf? And thank you for calling him out because he changed NOTHING. He was off his game tonight, but I bet Syesha and Jason will make bottom two. Great call about Syesha, by the way. She was outstanding for all the reasons you stated and deserves at least to be third. What's up with Randy? If it had been Carly up there, he would have raved no matter if she had yelled the whole song. I don't like Lil' Archie that much, but it was his best perf in awhile. But who made him wear that seagull shirt? It even looked a bit like one had pooped on it. Telethon...hilarious.

I'll buy Jason's CD but He will be going home on Wednesday.
Syesha has been the most consistent and takes more chances than all of the other contestants. She deserves to be the next American Idol.
