Freshman Flops: TV actors who just can't get to second

Full story: Zap2it.com

Before "Castle," Nathan Fillion survived "Drive" and "Firefly." Before "Grey's Anatomy," Chlyer Leigh was put through her paces on "Girls Club," "Club," "Reunion," "Safe Harbor" and "That '80s Show." Getting cast on a TV show is worth celebrating.

Why is Nathan Fillion on this list? Castle is already on the second season and has been picked up for the full season.

Bob saget is on this? Let me think. He probably should of been on a tv show where he has 3 daughters and has his 2 friends come and live with them. I bet he wouldn't be a flop then! Not!

This list was interesting, but unclear what you're getting at. is this stars who have had flops but are now on a stronger series? would be nice if you said what they're doing now.

Besides the others named previously: Kyle Secor was on Homicide and Veronica Mars, D.W. Moffat was on For Your Love, Jamey Sheridan was on Law & Order: CI, Eric Balfour was on 24 (in non-consecutive seasons to boot). This is kind of a half-a***d list.

Bob Saget shouldn't be on the list. After years on Full House, a successful run on America's Funniest Home Videos and being the narrator of several seasons of How I Met Your Mother, he has had plenty of television success to make up for any failures.

Paula Marshall is on Gary Unmarried, which is in its second season.

I think this was an old list that was resurrected because Trauma and Southland were cancelled...there are five people on this list from Southland, and four from Trauma.

I won't even go into how stupid it is to have Bob Saget on this list. I don't care what y'all say, I'm gonna keep on rollin' with Saget.

TV actors who just can't get to second?? Why are Jerry O'Connell, Sarah Paulson, and Kyle Secor on this list? Jerry O'Connell was the lead in Sliders, appearing in 69 episodes, and was also a regular on Crossing Jordan, appearing in 88 episodes. Sarah Paulson was one of the regulars on Jack & Jill, appearing in 31 episodes. Kyle Secor was one of the regulars on the awesome Homicide: Life on the Streets, appearing in 122 episodes.

Have all of these actors been on shows that didn't survive a single season? Sure, but I'd imagine you could say that about almost ANY actor appearing on television. A more interesting take would be to highlight the actors that have appeared in shows that always ran at least 2 seasons.

Another thing: many of the actors on your list have had major parts in movies, so it's not as if they've been hanging around for years, waiting to catch a break, but everything they've been in has been cancelled after a couple episodes.

Bob Saget, Regina King, Jamey Sheridan, and Kyle Secor being on this list is just ridiculous. And Sarah Paulson has been a on show that got to a second season for sure. Lindsay Price was on BH:90210 for a few seasons and Lipstick Jungle had a second season as well. I guess Popular all of a sudden didn't last for more than one season and Christopher Gorham wasn't on it. Its like they didn't have enough TV knowledge to compile the list and then couldn't even fact check to make sure they got it right. I'm embarrassed for whoever compiled it.

Because Castle is only alive because ABC willfully ignores that it loses almost half its lead-in.

I argue that Fillion is actually the main reason that show isn't doing so well, just like he was an ingredient in the failure of his previous shows.

Yet again, Ms. Moretti, you let your bigotry against certain actors/directors/film styles/etc color your posts. Castle is alive because a lot of people, including me, enjoy the show, period. Your disdain for Nathan Fillion is both obvious and ever-present, but how about giving those of us who actually WATCH the show credit for our own personal choices and keep your own personal prejudices to yourself, hm? They've grown more than a little tiresome, and is one of the main reasons I left the board initially (Zap2It's idiotic new platform being the other).

So you don't like Castle, got it. Time to move on now.

Michael Cudlitz also put in several years as a bit player in BH 90210 (the real one, not the skinny one). This list really makes no sense.

Wait......so "Sliders" doesn't count as a successful freshman venture for Jerry O'Connell? And what about "Crossing Jordan"? That doesn't count either?
