His publicist says that his only regret for throwing a phone at a hotel clerk in 2005 was having to apologize for doing it, insisting that it was humiliating, to have to show remorse when all he was truly sorry about was the fact that he was in so much trouble.

Insists he doesn't have a bad temper - blaming his violent streak on his masculinity.

You might dislike his behaviour (and that is understandable), but you can't deny he is a great actor.....and I think he would be great in the part and do it true justice....if he is true to acting form.....
