How horrific is it when ted haggard ends up being the most normal person in the documentary. Religion should not be an allowable excuse for child abuse. As I've noted before, christianity rarely has anything to do with christ. Zilch wrote: <quoted text>Jesus Camp - God Help Us All! Have you asked OL? If she thinks that condoms are a good (or at least not bad) idea; why would she oppose affordable/available birth control? Seems to me, and I've *known* her for quite a long time - she's opposed to abortion and in favor of means to prevent same. OL - is my above comment correct?

To show that just because some people go through HELL in life, beginning at birth, it doesn't mean their life is meaningless, worthless, hopeless, or pointless, as so many pro-choicers here would have us all believe a parent has a right to believe about their own child. http://www.wardfoley.com/Media.html THIS guy has the RIGHT outlook and attitude and it began with his precious mother TEACHING it to him. The pro-choicers who post here are lousy teachers of anything positive. They only teach negativity, how to be self-pitying, how to be angry and bitter for what life hands them or others etc. and they only teach others how to GIVE UP. Actually Lynniekins, not one person here has even REMOTELY suggested that ANYONE 'just give up'. I've met Ward Foley and he's a great guy, but his story doesn't apply here since no prenatal tests existed then, OR NOW, to diagnose what he has: Arthrogryposis Multiplex, before birth. People dont generally die of Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, nor do they die of clubed hands or feet which he also has. His mother wouldn't have had the opportunity to know what she would have done back over 60 years ago if she'd have known, since there was no way for her to know she would be birthing a child with his birth defects. Regardless, his birth defects didn't affect his viability or birth, nor did it affect his mothers pregnancy. Good try Lynnikins, but as usual, you're trying to compare apples to Ford trucks and are an abysmal failure. If anything, we are teaching of the most positive thing there is: that women have CHOICES, and that the opinions of meaningless assholes like you dont have to affect or impact them. FREEDOM is the ability to make one's OWN MEDICAL CHOICES, and that's the most POSITIVE thing anyone can teach another.

Have you seen that it looks like Gosnell's trial will be starting soon? I wish that I could be in that courtroom-well maybe not, I don't think that I could sit there quietly.

You probably already know the answer. What is Hell?: "The word hell comes from a Germanic root which means “to cover,” and is the usual translation of the Hebrew Sheol. In religions in the West, hell is believed to be a place of punishment for the souls of those who sinned during their lives. Hell is normally contrasted with heaven, the place where the souls of good people go to be rewarded." What is Sheol?: "The word sheol is a Hebrew word for “grave” or “pit.” Theologically, it was an underworld where the sprits of the dead lived on. It was similar to the Greek Underworld and was thus not normally a place of punishment. Some later texts, however, started to refer to Sheol in a negative manner, as if it were reserved for those who did evil while alive." God & Hell: "The existence of hell is theologically necessary in Christianity because of the need to punish those who refuse to believe correctly. It is also a theological problem because it has come to be seen as a place of eternal torment. It is doubtful that this is compatible with the existence of a God which is perfectly loving." http://atheism.about.com/od/bibledictionaryon...

Sure you can have "legalized killing of human life in a civilized society." Would you rather the world be like one ginormous No Kill Shelter? Where people, instead of unwanted animals, languish on a subsistence level waiting for a miracle or at least to be adopted by a loving family? "One PETA staffer who used to manage a "no-kill" shelter had a change of heart after seeing a pit bull who had lived in a cage for 12 years. He had gone mad from confinement and would spend the day slamming his body against the sides of his cage, becoming so enraged that the workers were afraid to handle him. After witnessing this miserable life, she realized that some fates truly are worse than death." http://www.peta.org/about/why-peta/no-kill-sh... Really, one woman at a time (usually when she receives a positive pregnancy test) decides the fate of her very own pregnancy. Simple concept to abide and respect.

I'm fully aware of the horrid mis-use of the Teutonic word Hel. Sheol, Tartarus, Gehenna and Hades are not the same as the christian lie of hell.

Any concept that involves legalized elective killing of human life is not a simple one. Far from it. And no society that condones it can ever call itself civilized. Your first paragraph seems to advocate for a type of euthanasia for those whose life you deem unworthy of living. You are one scary individual.
