Good! It'll be nice not to have to ride through that shitty area where the houses (if that's what you want to call them) are that look like they're going to fall off the cliff where the current access trail is.
Its by far the worst area I've seen in ANY of the towns the trail system goes through.

Good. Take yourself back where you come from. We don't want you out of towners invading our town anyway. Some greedy business's might but we the public don't.

Why is it the very second someone says something that someone else doesn't agree with welfare is always threw into it?Not everyone in this world is on welfare my gosh try a better insult. As embarrassed as I am ATV rider is right, the city does not take care of the streets and for the most part the people here have given up as well and no longer take care of their property. It's a shame because Logan used to be one of the prettiest most well kept cities in the state.Instead of everyone getting mad because someone states the obvious do something to help turn the attitudes of visitors around. My house is in the middle of the war zone that leads to a trail head,I try to keep it nice around it,but that doesn't change that the streets need paved,or the weeds along the roadway needs cut ,among many other things that need done. And I am sorry but ATV rider is not the only person who sees our town that way.I have heard a lot of people talk bad about Logan, but I don't get mad because I know what they are saying is the truth and I can't change the truth. At least not alone. To change the truth we would have to all work together as a community to make our neighborhoods nicer to be around, ride through, walk through or whatever. It's a shame that we can't all do that, but only because it's easier to sit back and bitch about what needs done instead of getting out and actually doing.

Well said! They would have to get off all the drugs and come back to reality to see how it really is.

If it bothers you that much, use another trail head, or better yet, stay off the trails period.

A lot of the towns with trail heads have their own eye sores, so does Charleston, Gilbert, etc., anytown USA.
Some are abandoned properties, some just unkept by their owners.

The towns or counties with these properties should make the homeowners clean up the property or they should forfeit said property if they let it go for a certain period of time. That would get the homeowner/property owner to clean it up or let the state/county take the property. That would use our tax money, but then the property could be sold to recoup the expense of this. Of course this would have to be put into some sort of law, but it might get some of these property owners to clean up or loose it.

That is a good idea and I am not certain, but I believe there is a law on the books concerning abandoned property and condemned property.I am no where near certain what that law is but I know there is one lol. There is also a law on the books about being able to fine homeowners for filth and such, but again I am not certain what that law is either. Some years back I remember the city council lady going around talking to homeowners about their responsibility for keeping property clean, grass cut, removing old junk vehicles, etc etc...they made it clear at that time that due to fire hazard they have the right to condemn property that posed a fire hazard ,and or health hazard. But you have gotten me thinking this morning and I will try to get in touch with some people I know to see if I can find out what those laws are.I just think it would be wonderful if people would put as much effort into making Logan nice again as what they put into bitching about all the problems we have.I love Logan or I would not be here, but at this minute I am ashamed of what all of us residence as a whole have let it become.

If my opinion bothers you clean your filthy town up! When you open a trail system and invite everyone from around the country to it you should have enough sense to clean the area up that tourists will see. It is a direct reflection of how locals carry themselves and you should be embarrassed! Or better yet just shut it down then all the revenue it generates will be lost. I imagine the locals would like that due to a very small percentage of you actually want to work.
It is ashame that the small percentage of good hard working, clean people who live there have to be categorized with the filthy drug infested losers that make the town look bad.

Instead of putting trailheads around old houses were poor people are. Why not put them in areas such as Chief Logan Park, Mitchell Heights and Middleburg and such?
The houses are nicer and the out of towners wouldn't have to look at poor peoples houses.
Why is it when a trail gets put in they put it in the ugliest nastiest places around?
Why don't they put them in the more elite areas that the county is proud of?
If you want to impress visitors, put the trails in a suitable place to impress them.
I'm sure the fine folks with fine brick homes and small mansions in Logan county wouldn't mind welcoming out of state visitors riding by their homes.
Though, I could be wrong. Maybe that is why the trails are put in the poor areas, because the elite citizens of Logan have the pull to say not in my backyard and the poor, with no pull, have to take the trails in, with no say so in the matter.

This is a LIE because NOBODY paid ONE CENT to advertise (National Level) the trail system during the mini-series. Huge FAIL but I guess the money was used to send Earl Ray to Japan!

You don't have to be a "elite citizen" to clean your property up. Every time I say something negative about Logan several posters jump out to defend it. Talking about their pride! Where is your pride to bend over and pick up garbage? Or to make your home presentable?
Ever heard the saying a picture paints a thousand words? When tourists come there what they see is a big negative picture.
Now you have discovery with the hatfield and McCoy mini series. It's going to bring a lot more tourists then atv enthusiasts they will see the same picture.

Then maybe you should pick up the garbage that is thrown out by trail riders and stay home. Every Monday I pick up garbage that has been thrown by mules and four wheelers. Also my husband works very hard to make a living for his family, and not everyone uses drugs in WV. We are not the only state that has drug problems. Please make sure that all the dirt is swept off your own doorstep before talking about someone else.

If you paid attention you would have seen I gave credit to a small percentage of people in Logan. How can I pick up garbage in Logan and stay home at the same time? You make no sense!how can a mule and 4 wheeler throw garbage?(animal & machine) duh!
You only work on Monday's to pick up garbage? Picking up cans to cash in for beer and dope doesnt count as doing something for your community.I bet your husband wouldnt have to work so hard if YOU would get a job. Or is picking up garbage on Monday's enough work for the week?

Well, if you are at home you wouldn't be down here riding. If you don't know what a mule is then you probably don't even trail ride. Hint, hint. It has four wheels. No I pick up garbage on Mondays' because that and Tuesdays' are my only days odd. FYI I am a R.N. at Charleston Memorial. Like I said before not everyone does drugs or drinks. If this place is so bas, then keep you butt in PA.
