All we need to know is that we are clueless and IT is the only one that knows just what it is we are clueless to. Of course ITs messages are littered with colorful words IT copied from somewhere. Poking sticks at IT has become somewhat of a past time of late. I am still trying to get a fish to scream though. I wonder if IT would pass my findings on to PETA for me? I am sure IT must have inside contacts in the ARA at the very least. I could even include videos of the tactics I use in my experiments.

Wrong again. On virtually every point you made. Try again, pinhead.

It most definitely can be done, but you have to make it your business to understand nutrition in a much more advanced way than the average person. If a person is willing to do that and follow a customized diet for each person in the family, it's fine. Do most vegans do this? I doubt it.

Debra27 wrote: "A vegan diet centered on whole fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and legumes is certainly healthier than the modern American diet of processed foods laden with sugars, salt and hydrogenated fats. However, veganism’s total exclusion of animal nutrients poses some serious problems for the human body. Meat, fish and eggs are our only concentrated dietary sources of vitamin D, vitamin B12, omega-3 fats (which play a huge role in brain health), heme-iron (which increases the absorption of iron from vegetables) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which appears to fight cancer and heart disease. A healthier choice is to modify the vegan diet with a minimal amount of animal nutrients. Clinical research finds that people on vegan diets commonly suffer from a variety of nutritional deficiencies. One study, for instance, showed that more than half of vegans tested were deficient in vitamin B12, putting them at risk of mental health problems such as fatigue, poor concentration, decreased brain volume with aging and irreversible nerve damage." Drew Ramsey (is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University) - There are actually a lot of sources on the internet that provide factual information about the effect of a vegan diet on the human brain. It appears to be very dangerous, as proven by science. But it appears that has no place on this forum that is rife with emotional diatribes and ongoing verbal assaults...oh, wait, it must be due to the very diet that this poster is railing for! Good info, thanks. It is possible to get all the nutrients you need as a strict vegan but it is tricky, takes a LOT of time, organization and record-keeping and it's expensive. Just eating a small amount of meat, fish, eggs or dairy, along with complex carbs, lots of veggies and fruits, sticking to unprocessed, fresh foods, is the best diet for humans. That's not just my opinion. It's a biological fact.

Every vegan I know is well educated and is continually educating themselves and staying informed. We are well aware of what foods to consume that are the healthiest for us and our loved ones.. I GUARANTEE that my family and friends are better informed on nutrition than ALL of you combined.

FACT: "Meat protein takes an obscene amount of energy to produce compared with vegetable protein. As Cornell University reports,“Animal protein production requires more than eight times as much fossil-fuel energy than production of plant protein while yielding animal protein that is only 1.4 times more nutritious for humans than the comparable amount of plant protein.” Meanwhile, meat production generates huge amounts of toxic waste (Google “hog farm” and “lagoon” for a taste). This is why the United Nations has called the meat industry — and therefore, meat eating —“one of the … most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global.”

"So, when you are inevitably asked about your vegetarianism, any hint that you don’t want to eat meat because you don’t want an animal to have to die for your palate will likely get you either condescendingly ridiculed as a tree-hugging hippie or viciously attacked as an arrogant, conceited holier-than-thou freak. Typically, this will involve all sorts of laughably labyrinthine arguments from carnivores. They’ll insist that because you sometimes swat mosquitos, you’re a self-delusional hypocrite, and that because they have enough guts to buy nice vacuum-sealed packets of bloodless, viscera-free pre-killed beef at the supermarket, they are the truly moral, consistent and courageously honest heroes of the food world. Some will further insist that they only eat “humane” meat, and that they are therefore actually making a more “humane” decision than many vegetarians who ever dare to eat non-organic vegetables. Based on consumer statistics, though, this is, in almost all cases, a total lie — only a tiny sliver of meat eaters eat “humane” meat. And regardless, the “humane” meat argument doesn’t really address your central rationale because, of course, a grass-fed cow, free-range chicken and wild-caught fish all have to be slaughtered for someone to enjoy a meal out of them." ---- So true!!!!
