Mr. hypocrite "Horton" do the same that the pharisees did, the same that Pilato did or the same that the Jews did is very easy. The diference is doing what Christ did when he saw the blind person, or the leper or to the prostitute who felt sorry for them and made them his pain, this difference is what turns out to be difficult. If so much you know about the bible try to seem a little more to Jesus Christ who so much you defends, do not throw stones on the brother Joel Osteen and extend his hand to have compassion of him. Where is your love to the neighbor? You will have your moment of judgment when you come in front of God. At the end of all you're judgment it is more sinned because it demonstrates envy. God has more compassion of you that of anyone other on the earth.

I would not necessarily call Mr. Horton a hypocrite. Although, I do not agree with all of his points. He makes some pretty harsh accusations against Joel Osteen, most of which are ill-informed assumptions and generalizations about his messages. One also has to understand that he is coming from a Reformed background so 60 minutes definitely picked someone with an opposing opinion. Horton points out in a couple of his articles about Osteen that he believes that we must suffer in this life and then in heaven we receive the blessings and enjoyment. I have points I somewhat agree with him on but overall disagree. I do believe that Joel Osteen can point more to Jesus and talk more about sin and the other benefits to salvation but his message is the Word of God however you look at it. John 10:10 says Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. But the devil came to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus did come for our salvation so we could spend an eternity with Him but He also came so we could live in abundance here. Maybe the two of these guys should hash it out. Hey Dr. Horton have the guts to talk with Joel face to face and allow him to question your thoughts! I think Mr. Horton would gladly talk to Joel Osteen face to face. I commend his courage to defend the true gospel.
Jesus did come to give us abundant life, and He also told us to pick up our cross. So, in light of that, I would say the abundant life comes after the cross. Joel Osteen doesn't have a cross, doesn't mention the cross, in fact, he barely says the name of Jesus.
Of course, Joel Osteen himself admitted that he isn't qualified to talk about the true Christian doctrine, so I don't know how much clearer than that it can be. He doesn't know the faith.
Mr. Horton was hardly like a Pharisee. The Pharisees wouldn't admit they were sinners, or needed God. Mr. Horton writes extensively about the fallen human condition.
Joel Osteen is preaching "peace, peace, where there is no peace" and sadly , people are being led straight to hell.
I thank God for Michael Horton and others who will be brave and sound the alarm! Hopefully some will be saved!
Oh, and ask the suffering brothers and sisters in China or Africa about the "abundant life" as Joel Osteen preaches it.

We've got to get back to the basics, Christians. We can't have all of this fluff in churches. We need substance and Joel is not providing that to millions of people. When Jews, Catholics and Hindus can be just fine listening to his messages, somethings wrong. Sin is our problem, not self esteem. This is not a season that preaching the Word is popular, but we must be faithful.

Joel Osteen's popularity is of no great surprise. The Apostle Paul spoke of the popularity of "Christ-less" preaching in 2 Tim. 4:1-5. The fact that non-Christians find Osteen's message uplifting and helpful illustrates that what Osteen preaches is not the Gospel and has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. For if he was a true Christian preacher he would preach the Christ who lived a perfect life for us, died on the cross to take the punishment for my sins (and the sins of the whole world) upon Himself, and was raised from the dead that all who believe in Him will, like Christ, live forever. Anything else is simply drivel.

Prophecies Thru Thomas S. Gibson (2001-2004)
2001 01 13.2
For thus saith the Lord, watch ministries that raise themselves up in the pride of this world. There are two types of such ministries: those that serve Me, but have gone after the flesh and want to raise up their name; and those that serve satan who naturally flow into the pride of the world. Both shall be equally judged, saith the Lord, both shall be equally judged! For I am bringing about a judgment on ministries. In the coming years you shall see this significantly. You shall see the hand of God against ministers that have turned against Me, and ministries which are wolves in sheep’s clothing, which are designed specifically by satan to deceive the world. I shall bring My hand against them. And yet they shall rise up in greater numbers than before. They shall flourish for a time, and then I shall judge them for their sin. For thus saith the Lord, never again will I have My church so deceived as its been in the past. For I shall bring a quickening of My Spirit to My people. If they will heed this Spirit, they will know the Spirit of God speaks to certain people. And they will know that certain things are not of the Kingdom of God––but are not of the Kingdom in any way, but are not of anything to do with the Kingdom, but are not anything whatsoever to do with God. But while they use the name of Jesus, while they use the name of God, while they rise up in great religious ways; they are of satan, and they are born of him. For thus saith the Lord, great is My Kingdom, and I shall begin to show this into My people so that they will know who is of Me and who is not. And as I teach them this––to listen to the Holy Spirit and receive this discerning of spirits––they will rise up and know who to follow and who not to, who to listen to and who not to. For My Word is going forth and we are in the preparation for the very, very last days. So says the Lord God.
osteen is as false as they come, he preaches what the people want to hear "vanity" the same like false tammy faye and false jim baker and a whole bunch more .

Why do you judge Joel Osteen so? According to scripture, God is the one who judges all. I don't see any sites where Joel Osteen is blogging about how other minestries are wrong in what they're doing. He's leaving judgment to God. Who is the evil here that must defend itself?
