I like the idea of revitalizing our downtown area. 21st Street Bridge to the north. This would include the Greenwood Area. It "can be" such a rewarding endeavor if "only" Tulsans would get on board. However I see from the posts, nobody wants to move forward. Stay in you "safe" spot and watch Tulsa go downhill. Sad really.

Build it please, I'll support it. How many of you are season Driller ticket holders? Hmmmm? How many only go out to the "free" nights? Hmmmmm ? In otherwords, you don't support the stadium they have now which needs a lot of repairs.

Progress is good but I say fix the streets first. How are we going to get to this shiny new statium if we can't get out of the pothole?

I've lived here all my life. I know the streets are bad and I also know the money / taxes we have been collecting has not been used properly and now it's a mess. Not just here...The whole State's roads are bad.( I travel a lot)..... I wish I had the answer to the roads, I'm not that smart.. lol.... I do know (hopefully) with revitalization, revenue from the DT area could potentially, if managed properly be the golden coin Tulsan's been looking for.........along with new City government...(wink, wink)!

....are you really in Chicago and supporting a ballpark in Tulsa, Oklahoma?
The current stadium has been rebuilt and is in great shape! Maybe it has been a while since you were in town?

Actually, I know very well ( dated for a long time ) the announcer for the Drillers.. I do know for a fact (as I've attended hundreds of games ) that the ball park is not in good shape. And to answer your other questions, I work in DT Tulsa... so I'm very familar with it.

On the subject of the new office building, I understand that the City empoloyees moving to the new office building will now have to pay the fees of the parking garages which will no be compensated or they can park at the existing parking near the permit center ( 3 blocks away in the rain, sleet and snow) for free. I wonder if that parking would be used in day games

Our city counclers are backed by the mayor and the Tulsa world. With the exception of Jack Henderson. Our voice can't hardly be heard withall the rich people paying for people to be put in office. They don't care how much it us to fill our gas tanks up or how much it cost us to exspensive to vehicles due to piss poor roads. The bad part we voted these boneheads to the council by trust. I voted for Roscoe not David Patrick. I wish us all luck.

Does anyone know if the Mayor is still trying to move the homeless shelters out of Tulsa. I know she shut down the downtown YMCA?
it was on the news that they wanted John 3:16 to move another location.. At least I heard it ... anyway.. they are now wanting to build a homeless place at Admiral and Yale..I hope they do not do that... leave them where they are and the BOK center shouldn't have been built in the location that it is...

Last I heard the Jail is at 300 N. Denver(300 BW) and where they want to build the ballpark is around 200 N. Frankfort(500 BE). So I didn't know 9 blocks away is right next door. The day center would be about 10 blocks away. Also if they don't move the ballpark good chance Jenks will make the Drillers a good offer and then Tulsa would have one less place for families to go.

Not many families attend it now... Just look at the stadium.. it is only about 1/4th full on free nights... less on night tickets are purchased
