City Addresses Ballpark Questions

Yeah I guess it is in the best intrest of the city to put a ballpark in downtown right next to the JAIL!!!! Give me a break. I don't live here anymore because I'm in the military but I still pay taxes and am a resident and this whole downtown thing that I have finally gotten to see is a huge waste. That damn BOK center looks like shit. It looks like a huge roll of warped duct tape. All of the city officals need to be taken out in the street and have their butts kicked. This ballpark is just another huge waste of money. It's nice to see that the streets are the same as always. WHAT A HUGE WASTE!!!! The mayor and her staff need to pull their heads out!!! NEWS FLASH!!! there's nothing wrong with the old ballpark. Put the money towards something worth it.

i like how the new stadium is right across the street from the day center..now that will bring the crowds in!

too many hurdles---Probely won't happen, I think the current place is just fine with plenty of seating for the free nights. What about the seating? only about 6,200 fixed seats compared to 12,000 seats they have now. But I do think the bok center looks really good and I hope it does good for Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma

My main concern continues to be the area of town that the new ballpark is scheduled to be in.

At night games we will be body armor and armed guards to get to our cars. If they are still there when we get out.

There goes the fireworks nights.They won't be able to handle all the parking.

it appears to me that tulsa is trying to make tulsa look like okc with all venues downtown with no parking. wher will handicap parking be for these places. at the ford center handicap parking is about a block from the center.

if the city spent the time and money to fix the streets and not put everything downtown. tulsa would be ok.

they build the town and then try to figure out how they are going to have the traffic move thru the town.

again i say if the city would put all the money they are on the streets instead of building up downtown with no parking the taxes would not haveto be raised.

the city can't even pick up the limbs they asked everyone to place on the curbs,how can they put a ball park where everyone is unsafe?

I think this would be another stupid move for the city officials to move the park. There is nothing wrong with where it is now. I don't particularly enjoy the fireworks in the middle of the night when I have to work at 5am the next morning. But I knew that when I moved there. I don't see anything wrong with where it is now. If they put the 2 million dollars that are being "donated" into the park that they have now, it would be amazing!!! I think that if we (citizens of Tulsa) had a vote in it, we would have the majority vote of leave it where it is. If they do move it, me and mine will be moving. This will be the straw that breaks the camels back. I am tired of not having a say so in what goes on with my money!!! I might agree with moving it IF...all the roads were in mint condition and the stadium NEEDED to be moved. But neither of those are true and Kathy Taylor is a HORRIBLE MAYOR!!!! She is pathetic. I cannot wait til she is out of office!!!!

I AGREE with you kid! not only do they need their buts kicked they should not have moved into the new building which is a block or two away from the BOK and the JAIL, Mayor Taylor is a loser,

within a few blocks of one another.. the Performing Arts Center... Brady Theater...Cain's ballroom...BOK center..and now a planned ball park.. mmmmmmmmmm I am sure there are going to be performances and games at the same time...Parking is going to become quickly a nightmare.. Who would want to leave all their vehicles parked in an area where so many homeless are centered...It could be dangerous.. and I hope that there will be a high police presence during events.. or concerts...Why do the drillers need a new stadium...??? I have never understood that... upgrade the old location... it is in a nice location... people feel safe attending the games there...Could it be our Mayor wants to make a big name for herself to move her on up in Politics? or Is she just wanting some trophies kinda like to sit on her self?... wow I am so concerned about the economy and the streets.. and people can't afford the ticket scalpers prices... so many many problems

ABSOLUTELY, they started this project June 16th, they are picking up out SOUTH, anything EAST, WEST and NORTH you can forget it! IF you call they tell you if you have a truck you can take it to the dump yourself, Mayor Taylor is sucha liar, nothing she does is GOOD!!! all she does is run and stand with a few Black kids and people fall for it,, WAKE UP NORTH, WEST and EAST this Mayor does not have your best interest in mine, the streets are so bad, nothing is being done about it.. except downtown where the new BOK center is being completed..

Limbs from midtown were finally picked up last week. Some of them,anyway...Didn't make sense...looked like it was a hit or miss pickup...Ours were picked up but a pile two doors down wasn't....

Why do just few in this city get to decide what happens to the downtown area of a city of 500,000 people? Just because you have the money doesn't mean you control the majority! What happened to democracy? I am sick of being told what to do by the elite in this city! Mr. Gomez is my councilor. Get ready you are getting a call from me!

This is my opinion, and I think we need to have the citizens of Tulsa vote on this. I am sure the vote will be to keep the stadium where it is. There is nothing wrong with its location now. If we don't get a Mayor and other city officials (that aren't just trying to make money)
In Office Tulsa is going to go downhill very fast.. We cannot even get our roads and bridges fixed. We are so laughed at all over the nation.

Channel 6, why don't you read all of these comments and have Tulsa take a vote on it..Let's get the people involved..

Does anyone know if the Mayor is still trying to move the homeless shelters out of Tulsa. I know she shut down the downtown YMCA?

Where would they move them to? I would much rather them have a shelter downtown for them than to have them living in the ally or in my backyard.

Maybe she has room for them in her new office building.....
