It's about time, people. Take a stand and speak! Do not back down from these punks, where ever they are in our City. Assist and help the police do their job and Peace will eventually come.

Thanks for your fortitude and bravery!

Until our Mayor Kathy declares war on gangs nothing is going to change.

She has been hiding behind government agencies trying to fill their mandates and using them as a reflection of her efforts.

If people want change and want the violence stopped in all of Tulsa, I highly suggest you get out in front of the new BOK center when the Eagles are to perform to protest the neglect that our Mayor is giving all of Tulsa in stopping gang violence.

Or better yet just drive downtown and park somewhere about two hours before the Eagles concert begins to show her we want change. When people can't find a parking place for her BOK opening it'll send a message to her loud and clear.

Great comment! I guess we could caravan throuh the pot holed streets while looking for a parking space and dodging bullets... what a geat strategy!

Yes, it is about time. I just wished that our leaders would "rally" to stop this senseless BS! Can we not get serious about this? Even if we fixed our streets who would want to visit or live here considering how violent Tulsa is? Not to mention unjust!

no doubt, if our mayor hadn't backed out on hiring more police in favor of buying a new city hall--which we definitely did not need--we might not be in this mess----thanks mayor taylor

Yeah, everyone's taking a stand alright. Dialing 911 and waiting for someone else to come and clean up the mess.

How do you take back the streets and take a stand? Easy, when someone sticks a gun in your face and say "Hand over your wallet" kick them where it counts and fight for it. Criminals prey on the weak and passive, they always go for the easy targets.

When you see a crime in progress do something worthwhile, in a car? follow them. On foot? Chase them down. Don't be like the other 50 fools and stand around while tying up the 911 call center.

Maybe if Tulsa had a reputation of being a place where a criminal had a better than 75% chance of being lynched by bystanders or having his potential victim resisting or worse taking the gun, knife, etc... and using it on him then they wouldn't be here.

Everyone is always told don't resist and come out of it unharmed, that's what criminals want. They want you to give in, it makes it easy for them. Anyone that follows that advise should just wear a target on their shirt along with the words "Rob Me! I'm Easy."
Thank you

While the city needs to take a stand, how about the parents of the miscreants take a stand as well?
How about everyone actually knows where their kids are & what they are doing? How about teaching them personal accountability?
it would go a long way. How about busting the butts while they are young before they get so out of line that parents cower in the shadows wondering if their kids are gonna 'pop a cap' in them. How about teaching kids respect for their elders & authority?
How about it?
Nahhh too hard huh?

Over the years there has been groups that was going to work together to stop the violence, especially after a rash of murders. As far as I can tell it hasn't happened. The old saying "you can't change a leopards spots". These bangers have no respect for anthing or anyone.

I grew up by Mclain shopping center in the 80's. The violence was just as bad then as it is now.Dont get me wrong I have alot of black friends and still do to this day. I am white and live in another city now because I was smart enough to get out while I was still alive.I took a bullet to the lower back in the 7th grade at Monroe Jr. High in a drive by and all I was doing was walking home from school.I was so scarred that I carried a .22 revolver to school (McLain) with me everyday for almost 4 yrs and hid it in the bushes outside of the school so I could get home safely after school. The reason no one will come forward on all of this violence is because the police will not protect the ones that do come forward and when the thugs find out it was you well guess what? Your the next target!
