BOK Center Nominated For Award

Wow! All those millions of dollars and we might get a plaque.

whatever, if it supports Kathy Taylor or sports or guys drinking beer and sports then I wont go and I hope others wont go...I hope they dont win NO other awards...Me and my Man will just sit at home and watch the HGTV Marathon and drink our Chocolate milk

Hey, has anyone been down to the Winterfest yet? Just wondering what it's like, need some feedback..... Anyone??

It looks like a spaceship that landed in the middle of downtown. It kind of feels like one on the inside too.

Anyone who voted against Vision 2025 should be permanently banned from attending a BOK Center event. It is those backward-thinking cheapskates that kept a world-class facility like this from being built for so many years.

The income from visitors to Tulsa as well as the already incredible growth downtown has been well worth the very small tax increase.

I went once to the BOK. It is just like the FOrd Center - TERRIBLE. If you don't get seats lower than 5 feet off the ground, the grade is so steep and the walkway is so narrow that I have no doubt someone will get hurt. Scares me to death! Terrible place.
I wanted to see Trans Siberian Orchestra, but I went to see them in Branson instead of going to the crappy BOK.

I'm making my boyfriend go...haha...we haven't been yet, i went to the one in OKC last year and it seems just like this one and i had a lot of fun.

I love our new BOK center! I was so against it at 1st untill I went. Now I go all the time and have a GREAT time and I never have had a hard time parking either. Was in the front door in just a few minutes. It's hard to believe we have such a cool place right here in Tulsa. We are going to really enjoy it for years and years to come. I want to go see a show every month! Neil Diamond was even saying what a wonderful place it was and the only reason he has never been here is because he was waiting for us to build it. I even got to high 5 Janet Jackson in the BOK center! The place ROCKS Everybody should go and see for themselves before they say anything bad about it.

Obviously they didnt take into account the long lines caused by mis-managing Metallica's demands that everyone be checked for cameras with metal detectors.

Vision 2025 was just corporate welfare for the big construction and banking interests.

Really does it matter, how many people were put to work. How many people were able to have a job because of this "Corporate Welfare". I am sure those people don't think so. It puts money in their pocket so they can in-turn put money back into the economy.

That's exactly what my son & I thought too!

I will stay away.......if me and my man ever go out, it will be to Renegades only......I love that place, I just wished they didnt serve beer there !!!!

I have a window at work that overlooks the BOK center. Trust me....it looks better from 30-someting stories up than on the street level. We just atteneded a hockey game and it was my first time to see the building up close. The thing is only a few months old and the outside looks like it needs a good scrubbing. The tiles are dented near the ground where I'm assuming the lawnmower rubbed against it. The inside is ok, but I thought it would be bigger. The bathrooms are below average for what I expected ( no automatic anthing except the papertowels...whoo hoo!) and the whole building was just OK. I think we needed a venue to bring in income, but shouldn't they have chosen (atleast) a better exterior....like bricks that don't need cleaning every month. The Ford center is old compared to the BOK and it still looks brand new. I'll probably attend a few events there but I won't be bragging about our center to my out-of-town friends.

So, maybe this "award" will draw in some more acts?

The BOK Center, you know, is really, you know, something. Unfortunate side effect, you know, of direct quoting, you know. Makes me, you know, want to stop, you know, reading the story.

Yep, not to mention that a brick facade would have really complemented downtown. The design is groundbreaking, I am sure; but it wasn't the best looking design that could have been built.
