I completely agree with the young lady who has all rights to fight for her freedom being a Muslim. As a citizen of a free country everybody reserves the right to have equal opportunity employment, free from any racial, religious or color discriminations.

That's who I'm talking about... she's going to hold her head high and show the almighty A&F that she won't let it go without a fight. Far more character than a lot of people out walking around...she's too good to work for lousy A&F anyway!
Way to go

I agree with Mike. Hiring decision should have been made based on her ability to perform a job which she applied for, rather than rejecting her soley based upon her faith. Whatever happened to the thing called equal opportunity???

Come on people! When everyone accepts the fact that WE ARE NOT EQUAL then we can move on and enjoy life. If I was alegeric to latex I would not get a job in the medical field. If I was over weight i would not apply to be a personal trainner at the gym. It is obvious what type of image A&F promotes. If you don't fit it look for employment else where.

Well done ! I do agree with Mike, Hiring for a simple store jobs has nothing to do with high image and her religious belief. She should be given all possible opportunities to perform. A&F should apologize to the young and enthusiastic girl who is about to start her future.

Well done for what? She has accomplished nothing and wasted everyone's time. The sooner she accepts the fact that her "garments" are going to label her and take away several things in this country the sooner she will get a job and a paycheck. Catholic, Baptist, Jewish, Atheist, and so on faithfully practice their religion yet you couldn't pick them out of a crowd. Even some Muslims you could not. So lets wear a "garment" to draw attention to ourself. That is all this girl is doing. She wants some attention and is using "religion" to get it!

I agree with Mike, that everyone should have equal opportunity. On a different note though, she should be glad she didn't get a job there. I am disgusted with A&F. The other day I was walking by the dressing room (my daughter was inside trying something on), and imagine my surprise when I looked down at the floor in front of her dressing room, and I could see her as plain as day, unclothed, in a reflection on their floor. They way they polish their floors, you can see what is going on inside the dressing room. It made me sick. She then told me that when the boy first let her into the room to try on clothes, he stood outside her dressing room. She looked down trying to see if she could see his feet, and it was then that she realized that she could see his reflection on the floor. She realized the reason he was standing outside of her door. It made me sick! Ban A&F

this is ridiculous if you don't like the fact that A&F didn't hire you. Go look for a job somewhere else. I didn't ge a lot of jobs I wanted but I didn't run to the news and cry that I didn't get hired because I was Cherokee Indian. This is not newsworthy. And for all muslims - if you are offended that you can not get a job in this "racist" "sexist' "homophobic" "islamophobic" "mean" and unfair" America then get off your butts and go get one in pakistan, afghanistan, or Iran. Quit whining about how islamophobic our country is because you don't get your way. My child doesn't cry as much as you people do. And you wonder why some people don't like you. And these people go around and look for something to get offended about, and when they think they found it they run to cameras to show everyone how unfair this country "really" is. I speak for alot of people who are sick of it. Abercrombie and Fitch has every right to hire whoever they want. If you don't like look somewhere else. jeesh!!!!!

Abercrombie & Fitch has a look that they sell and they expect their employees to have that same look. It is just plain and simple. Most of the people who work in their stores are guys, the same as their customers. This woman does not fit the collegiate image of their customers....I do not blame the manager for not hiring her. It would be extremely bad for business. This was a business decision period.

Since KOTV is making a thing about this young woman, why don't you hire her as a news anchor. With her look, I am sure she would help your ratings!

I agree worldly tulsan. A&F can hire who they want, no one is twisting your arms to buy clothes there or work there. If you believe you were discriminated against say to yourself "I am better than that anyway" and go somewhere else. No one is entitled to a job of there choosing regardless of race, sex, gender, or religion.

very true. What do you think Hooters, Hot Topic or PacSun would do if she tried to get a job there. As soon as someone says no they are racial.

Was she going to be willing to take her scarf off and put on the clothes?
Maybe she can try Penny's or Dillards.

Well said. Some businesses have an image to uphold, and if she insists on wearing a scarf, then she may find herself unable to find work. You wouldnt arrive to a job interview with your jeans around your knees, shoes untied and poorly shaven, and expect to land a job as a car salesman.
As a side note, if she is a devout muslim, so much that she must wear a scarf, then why is she into music and fashion? Arent these things taboo in Islamic society?
