hmm, don't know about you but if I had a fire and my children were in the home. I gurantee you They get out. If I have to walk/run through flames to get to them. my children are more important to me than my own safety. makes you wonder what the parents were doing at the time, or, concidering it's muskogee, what they were making to cause a fire and forget to make sure their children were safe. unbelieveable.

Well you talk about running thru flames to rescue a Child in the same paragraph that you belittle the Parents, so my confusion is what does it have to do with this tragedy happening in Muskogee and who knows what the Parents were doing? I can however guarantee you this, when they and any other Family members/friends read that nasty post you wrote it will make them wonder how people can be so hateful in there time of grievance!

You probably have no experience with fires...it is not possible to 'walk/run through flames' for any reason regardless of how motivated you might be. But you don't seem to have any problem assuming the worst of these people...and to me that makes you an evil person.

Just when I thought people couldn't stoop any lower when commenting on such a terrible tragedy....I am appalled at the lack of humanity by two of the previous comments. None of us know the real circumstances yet, so how can you speak so cruely? In a fire people can become quickly disoriented and while rescuing the seven year old and probalby the grandmother as well, they may have thought another family member was getting the two year old. I don't know, but I do know enough to tell this family that I'm so sorry for their terrible loss, and my family will pray for you.

I have the same questions. how can the 7 year old that started the fire and 3 adults make it out but not the baby?? I personally would be laying there beside him if I couldn't get him out, or at least have burns and a lot of smoke inhalation because I would be in there looking for him until I couldn't look anymore

i am really not sure about what happened, but i am sorry there were no smoke alarms or working ones at least.... and i know you cannot watch your child every second... but i bet it was not the first time he had played with a lighter, which seems to me that is why you don't leave lighters lying around in reach of a child...i do believe though that if the parents were ANY kind of parents or grandparent...the death of the child is more punishment than i would ever want to recieve.

*Considering I think is what you meant to spell nonwing87.? You should really keep your harsh comments to yourself. I live less than 3 blocks away from where this took place & I can assure you being that this happened in Muskogee has nothing to do with it. So please, take your negativity somewhere else or turn it into prayers for the little boys family. I didn't know the family personally but I can assure you I'll be praying for them like I did.

The grandmother would not babysit the child because he was not potty-trained?
Sounds like he didn't have too many family members that cared about that poor child.
Obviously THEY made it out.

im curious to know the race of both parents because it sounded like a black name but the grandma was white.. maybe she didnt care because it was a black mans baby... no way to tell but if you think running through hot air is impossible then hold up a lighter and waive your finger through it quickly. and you use the term evil and impossible in the same paragraph you are an idiot. tell the child who just burned alive that it was impossible. a 2 year old might not make it through the flames but a mom would.

For those of you who are wondering, "how did they get out without the toddler" and assuming other things, or just wondering what race both parents are; here it is. First, they tried to get him out 3 or 4 different times, they were pulled out by the fire department because it wasn't safe for them to be in there. Second, they are not drug manufacturing, dealing, or using people. Lastly both parents are white. Cathey (the grandmother) made a playful comment that she now will regret for the rest of her life, she is not a hateful woman. I have lived next to these people for about 2 years. In that time I have gotten to know them. Every single person that has made a comment on this story (good or bad) has their quirks and they did too. But Terra is one woman that sacraficed her livelihood to take care of her kids! Please don't judge anyone just because of a snipet you read in the paper or a 3 minute story you may see on the news. There is more to each peersons life than what a simple story can tell you.

This is what is wrong with our society...people can sit back and judge others anonymously and feel better about their own miserable lives.
Sad really, a child is dead and some still feel the need to judge those in unimaginable pain in order to hoist their own self righteous selves above all others.
Must be nice to be perfect....most of us will never get to know how that feels.

I too have known this family for 2 years and like me and the rest of you, they are not perfect but they love their children. the older child is the same age as my grand daughter and is a good friend to her , stop judging them and pray for them! they will all need our prayers especially the little boy ! Put yourself in their shoes, they feel bad enough without the world judging them and calling them bad parents !

This particular one did happen in Muskogee. I haven't really watched the news to see any others, there may have been more.
