<quoted text>Isn't because of the way they have to make diesel now? The new enviromental rules that came into effect. Kinda like in the old days when summer gas was made and it cost more because it was supposedly better for the enviroment
You are right. I did some research and the switch to low-sulfer has added to the price, along with the federal excise tax on diesel being 6 cents higher than it is on gas. I don't know why that is, but it doesn't sound fair. I did some figuring and that additional 6 cents per gallon in tax costs me approximately $1800 a year. Truck drivers already have to pay a Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax to the tune of $550 a year, plus our tags which are ridiculous. Oh, and don't forget paying the additional fuel tax to every state you drive in other than your base state. Anybody want to buy a semi?

What makes me laugh is they say the drop will hurt the economic do to they (companies that stick it to us) are not making a profit now, how is that going to hurt the economic and I am sorry they wont be making billions of dollars off us right now but we all know they are still close to making the billion off of us even if they still drop it another dollar.

this is great that gas has finally went down, and hopefully it will keep falling. these oil guys are the most greedy of the bunch in my book, and now they want to tell us that its a bad thing that gas is now starting to drop and get closer to what it's really worth. well shame on you oil people for wanting to gouge the american people.

Unfortunately this is so true. It always follows the same course. Take prices through the roof for whatever reason, real or imagined. Wait for consumers to scream bloody murder. Wait a little longer. Drop prices slightly. Start easing prices back up, thinking we won't notice. Then repeat.

While the price of a barrel is going down the BIG OIL people don't care. China and India will suck up any gas we don't use. The Saudis have said $80 a barrel is where they will cut production this on top of the 500000 barrels a day they already have cut. It doesn't matter to the saudi's if it sits at $80 a barrrel cuz its only costing them 2 bucks to get it out of the ground. 9 bucks in Brasil, here the prices are inflated for anything that has to do with drilling

Personally I believe it's a matter of supply and demand. OKC population (including Norman, Edmond..College town).... your supply is much greater in the city and surrounding burbs, thus a reduction in prices..not just in gas.
Possible Munchkin, just possible, however it is the same in Bartlesville usually a dime to a quarter difference Quik Trip to Quik Trip and they have to be contracting gas from the same place logic says.

They are making money just not as much the rest from them is propaganda. I think right now big business and congress understands that they are a month away from a presidential election with a large number of their constituants totally wissed off.

Seems like I heard a while back the difference in prices in OKC and Tulsa is because QT has the monopoly in Tulsa area and 7-11 has monopoly in OKC area. QT has to have a bigger slice of the pie so to speak as far as the profit because all their "giving spirit" in Tulsa area. Fairgrounds event center, BOK center, River Parks, etc. Not saying its a fact, I just heard it and it sounded logical, so don't bash thee. LOL

You are so right snap, anytime a company starts advertising that they are giving back to the community then all it means is they are trying to get more people in their store and the fact that they are making so much profit. Home Depot is the biggest one to brag that one up.

One thing that never gets mentioned on here is the day rate of an offshore drilling rig. The rental rate alone is around $700,000.00 per day not including all of the items you need to buy that wear out and other overhead. Yah they are making money but they are spending it too. Most countries have a National Oil Company so the government gets the proceeds directly from what oil comes out of the ground. PSO is a production sharing agreement. While there is quite a bit of corruption going on with this type of agreement I can only imagine what would happen if the US decided to do this. You talk about washington fatcats them ba st ards would explode.
