Well it is about time. Saturday when I'm sure it was $3.05 here (I was in Tahlequah where it was $2.99) my friend called and said it was $2.93 in
Oklahoma City.

Does this mean the suv is going to make a comeback and the Detroit 3 will be ok? Nah, because the problems in the financial system will keep businesses reeling, credit tight, and jobs uncertain for a while. Take all the greedy s.o.b.'s, congress included, and dump them in the Gulf of Mexico.

I agree. The only reason the gas prices have dropped is because the Dow Jones dropped below 10000, the markets are in turmoil, and oil suddenly sank to $88 a barrel. This means lower gas prices for right now, but at that price per barrel, oil and gas companies will halt production (no profits for them), the supply will tighten, and the prices will shoot right back up. Combine that with the shaky credit market, terrified investors, failing banks, and rising unemployment and foreclosures, and that drop in price won't make a dent in anybody's expenses!

I think all of you are right,We should vote to get all the crooked sentor's and congress members out of office and put some people in office that we can trust! Well even if we do they will turn crooked and be the same way. You can't tell me this just happened its been on the down hill turn for years and our supposed to be congress and sentor's just held out there hand for a part of the money to keep there pockets full will all of us struggle to feed our family's and have enough money to be able to drive to work.

More rhetoric ... greed.... etc. Gee there will be layoffs at $60 a barrel? I remember not so long ago if only oil was $40-$50 a barrel all would be rosy. Inflation is back and history repeats itself... which is what they want. Look over history and see how the economy has its ups and downs. But we keep on rolling! Big Money is made when prices are moving, not when they are stable. Next year it will be a whole new story how we survived it all !

dewey, if it gets down to 60 dollars a barrel there will not be layoffs, or if there are the people being laid off should be very wealthy by now anyways. im so sick of hearing all the bs about supply problems, hurricanes effecting the output etc, gas was 129 a gallon before 9/11 and everyone was doing fine then. you greedy oil turks need to think about the people who are still working for 5,6,7,8 etc dollars an hour and cant afford chit because of gas prices. If you guys want to see 3 dollars and higher a gallon than for each 25 cents gas on the dollar they should raise the minimum wage by 25 cents.

I saw the $2.99 price yesterday morning while I was driving to work. It actually took me a few seconds for my early-morning brain to wrap itself around that funny looking number in front of the "99."

It is all a bunch of Crap . I do so dislike this government and the way the big boys can rob all of us normal people out there the real work force of America and I hope they all go to Jail , But we know it will never happen they get to keep the Millions of Dollars just like Martha Stewart did not fair to the wee ones that invested money in all the stocks hoping to be able to retire on that money . No problem all gone now and they have $410,000.00 Million to try and survive on when he left the company and gave all the other big shots tons of money did you see it on the hearings going on yesterday, Well no I guess not . It was not on the normal news or nightly news where he said he accepted full responsibility for his HUGH pay to himself and others. Geez wish I had even $5,000. 00 right now to fix my house up and pay for the Tranny going into my Van later today, But nope have to call the old life insurance Company and borrow on my Policy again to make ends meet. Thank Heaven I bought Whole life I would be up the crick without a paddle. They should loos e all the money all the crooks and have to live on a week to week basis and see how real PEOPLE do it.
I say no more!!!!

I wish diesel would drop like gas. It's dropped, but not as much. My husband had to pay $3.66 a gallon today. His semi wasn't nearly empty, he spent $325 and still didn't get it filled up. He will probably use all of that $325 on today's run.

Diesel used to be cheaper than gas, so why can't it at least drop as much as gas is?

Isn't because of the way they have to make diesel now? The new enviromental rules that came into effect. Kinda like in the old days when summer gas was made and it cost more because it was supposedly better for the enviroment

this is great that gas has finally went down, and hopefully it will keep falling. these oil guys are the most greedy of the bunch in my book, and now they want to tell us that its a bad thing that gas is now starting to drop and get closer to what it's really worth. well shame on you oil people for wanting to gouge the american people.

It dropped because companines like SemGroup and others (probably politicans) were artifically bidding up the prices. They have now milked it for everything and have run with their profits. The price has only gone down about 20% while the price per barrel has gone down about 40%. The oil companies, wholesalers and outlets are still riding the profit bandwagon on our backs.

Personally I believe it's a matter of supply and demand. OKC population (including Norman, Edmond..College town).... your supply is much greater in the city and surrounding burbs, thus a reduction in prices..not just in gas.
