That was somebodys son and somebodys father that are still on earth with pain and suffering. You guys should be careful and think before you throw something like that out there for anyone to see. I hope the children of the person that passed away never see this!!! I'm hurt and i never even knew him. This is sick!!!!!!!!!! ARe you joking? How much death and problems did these wonderful kids cause normal families? I would hang their corpses from trees as an example to the next losers who feel like taking over the business, and considering these headstones were obtained with illicit profits, they should be smashed into a million pieces and thrown in the landfill along with the person under it.

Almost 6 years ago, I left Eufaula and my ex husband after he ran me over with my own car. Last straw in a brutal 6 year marriage that I wont go too far into. All I know is that he was big into the drug scene down there, selling some but mostly using, not a good combination. I personally believe that drugs are a demon, str8 from hell. It's the only explanation for the dark, hate filled demonic look in his eyes as he would beat me after doing meth and crack. He would get the meth in Eufaula and the crack in Checotah and would sell for both his suppliers to get more for himslef between beating me up for the money I earned from my job at a local nursing home while me and our 2 children starved. He couldn't work, too many ppl all over the world were out to get "poor Jimmy" who, since he was part black and hispanic, and since everyone in Oklahoma especially are all still KKK members, he refused to work, instead he leached off of me while screwing around on me and sucking my money up his nose or a pipe. He hated white ppl so much, and women even more, dont' know why he never turned gay, moved to Jersey and married a black man. Anyways, back to the point. Three days after he ran me over with my own car after I found out he was back on the dope and told him I finally wanted a divorce, I was in the county courthouse filing divorce papers and restraining orders. I was then approached by a DEA agent who asked me to let it all go, give my ex MY car so he could go help them make a bust, and just forget the last 6 years of abuse and suffering so that they could use him in thier operation. I basically told them where they could stick that deal. I made sure that everyone I knew and everyone my family knew heard about his attempting to make a deal with the DEA to save his @ss from being sent away for attempted murder. Needless to say, he was on a bus to wherever the very next day. Eufaula is a small town, word spreads quickly, especially about snitches. Haven't heard from him since. I live elsewhere now, happily remarried and my new husband doenst hit the pipe or hit girls. Life is good. I just can't see why in such a small town it would take so long or be so hard to bust the drug peddlers. Oh yeah, probably because it involves alot of "in" ppl if you know what I mean. They can all go to you-know-where as far as I care, its where the demons and the devils belong.

Police whine about why citizens dont want to cooperate (or "snitch") with police but clearly this DEA parasite was as much a people-user as the man they were trying to bust. Two sides of the same coin. Had you cooperated with this leech, he would have hung you out to dry at the first opportunity and taken his promotion without any remorse for the suffering he caused while "just doing his job." The so-called "war on drugs" isnt anything like what you see on network fantasy shows like "cops" yet so many people cant understand why you should think twice before collaborating with police.

This is a very sad story, unfortunately I have seen it literally hundreds of times down here, and read about it thousands more. It is depressing to think these problems are now reaching Middle America, the last remnant of what America once was.

The bit about the headstones wasnt good reporting, and likely cast someone in a false light that isnt able to defend themselves. An apology is in order here, KOTV.

Ill bet that cop promised to protect you if you would just play along -- like he is going to respect someone who snitches on a family member. Yea, right.

"Member's of Smith's gang were given trips to resorts. Those who died on the job were given large grave markers." "This was a gang that was run very much like a business and there were incentive trips given to those who were effective in the business," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Wallace.
Smith's assistants fanned out all over eastern Oklahoma, hitting neighborhoods from Oklahoma City to Grand Lake. In return, they vacationed in resorts from Cancun to the Bahamas to Disney World. All were rewards for expanding the profit margin.
And, Smith didn't just lavish his employees with gifts in life.
"And so, those are honorifics who died, in their way of looking at it, in the line of duty," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Wallace.
I stand by my comment, and think unless Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Wallace can not prove this in court, this news outlet owes no one an apology.
Has some new information disputing this information come to light?

I thinks the apology comment was meant for the guy's gravestone in the picture. They snapped a shot of the wrong grave marker. I dunno?

That would be pretty sad (and highly inappropriate) if they used some stock photo, or someone unrelated to the story for the headstone shot, in a story like this! Come to think of it, It actually sounds like something my local paper would do, but they are seriously morons and lack any journalistic integrity.

I've ben disappointed in this news station more than once. They once reported there was a stabbing at my bar. Even had video of it??? When asked to correct it, they said the reported it as " a reported stabbing" so that means it wasn't confirmed and we were sh1t outta luck.
