We have lots of barred owls in our neighborhood S of Southern Hills. 2 of them nested there last year and raised 3 young. I can go out in the evening and call them in to the front yard sometimes.
I have seen coyotes cross 71st near Pittsburgh, and red foxes at 65th and Sheridan, near downtown,at 31st and Peoria, and on Riverside. One morning, a friend saw two of them chasing a Golden Retriever along the River-Trail from the Pedestrian Bridge to 21st.

Hey! I think that herring is mine. I usually keep a lid on the aquarium but somehow it managed to escape. So happy to hear that it's in capable and caring hands now.

How long ago did this happen, last winter?

And did they release the owl back into the neighborhood or somewhere else?
We used to have an owl in our neighborhood but I havent seen it since last winter, I wonder if this was it.
