As the wife of a man who spent 22 years serving his country I feel I have the right to respond to this. I too am distressed that any veteran would fall into this catagory and we regulrly give to several organizations which work to help them. However, no one else can solve a person's problems, if anyone, veteran or not, doesn't avail themselves of the help available and make efforts to overcome there problems, no one else can force them to be helped. Please remember there are millions and millions of veterans who endured the same things or worse, who learn to live with their problems and continue to be contributing members of society long after their time is the service is upVeterans represent one-third of the adult homeless population in this country, and that number is rising. While almost 200,000 homeless veterans line the nation's streets every night, almost twice as many experience homelessness at some point throughout the course of a year.
so you guys aren't willing to help your fellow man, especially the ones who sacraficed everything for your freedom. i think that says alot about the mindset of americans. selfish. and im also willing to bet that on sunday your at church praising jesus(as you should be) but don't act like it in the outside world.

I hope you are not saying that people who go to work everyday, buy homes, pay taxes, raise families and take care of their responsibilities even when it is hard, contribute nothing to society, and have no right to protest when they get blind-sided by the very people who they elected to represent them. |
